“Kayleigh was so great with my dogs and she went above and beyond to care for my senior dog. Communication was top notch and she kept me updated about everything. She’s great and we can’t wait to see her again.”
“Amelia took great care of our 2 golden retrievers Honey & Maple, and also left our house clean and cared for while we were away for a week. Would absolutely recommend to other owners in need of a sitter. Thank you again for everything, Amelia!”

“Michael did great with my senior lab & three kitties. He updated us throughout the entirety of the trip, and took so much stress off of our shoulders. He definitely is one of the best sitters i’ve used. 😊🙌🏻🙌🏻”

“Natalie was AWESOME with Grey! She came to meet him a few times, before she stayed with him, to insure he was comfortable with her. She was very good with Grey. She played with him more than we do, I am sure. She sent us pictures and videos multiple times a day. She contacted me if something arose that I had not mentioned or explained about his idiosyncrasies. He loves her, and so do we. We were concerned that he would want to go with her, when she left / went home from the stay!! That is how much she did for him.”

“Patrick did an outstanding job caring for our dog and home. He was attentive, responsible, and kept us well-informed with great communication throughout. Our dog was clearly well cared for, and we returned to a spotless house. We would not hesitate to book him again and highly recommend him to others.”

“Kristie did an amazing job and was also very flexible with her schedule to accommodate our needs. Our pup was super happy to have lots of outings and snuggles while we were away.”

“Jessika was fantastic with our senior papillon, Ziggy, during a in-home stay over a long weekend. She did a meet and greet before our trip and Ziggy took an instant liking to her. She is excellent with animals. She gave us regular updates, including many pictures and videos (highlighted by a “We are Penn State” cheer). We were able to enjoy our vacation worry free knowing our dog was in great hands with Jessika. Bonus, I think she left the house even cleaner than how we left it for her!”

“Olivia was wonderful with our dog! She asked thoughtful questions on how to best care for her, and was very understanding of our dog being reactive around other dogs. She sent updates and pictures while we were away so we knew she was being well cared for. We would definitely book with Olivia again!”

“Tamkia was absolutely amazing with my dogs yet again! She went above and beyond and worked with me during the labor day weekend! My dogs love her so much they jumped in her arms when she came through my door. She will be the only dog sitter I get from now on!”

“This is my second time booking Autumn to stay in my home to take care of my dog and cat. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! My pets got plenty of love and hugs. Autumn was very responsive and made me feel as ease being away from home.”

About: I’ve taken care or both cats and dogs for 14 years since I was 5. I’ve learned pets body language over the years and know just want they need . I have free time during the week to stay with your pets for a few hours and over the weekends I have can stay overnight to look after them. I will stay where I can see them when I am over and if they need their space I will allow them that but they are always monitored and if they go silent I will check on them constantly.
“Christina was great with our 4 dogs! She made sure to send updates and pictures while with our crew, which put our minds at ease knowing they were being taken care of, and allowed us to enjoy our trip!”

About: I've cared for dogs since I was young and have handled dogs both large and small. I've cared for cats since 2019, I am newer to them technically, but I love how different they can be. I run my own business, so making my own hours allows me a lot of wiggle room on doing check-ins or rearranging my day to allow for walks. My home is a temple to good vibes and my happy lil buddies (Sprout and Tansy) get along with everyone they've met so far.
“Carly took exceptional care of our whole menagerie of cats and dogs while we were away. She handled every ask with professionalism and even managed a few unexpected curveballs without missing a beat. It gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing our pets and home were in such capable hands. Recommend her without hesitation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Nancy was absolutely amazing!! She spent quality time with Millie and kept me posted throughout the sitting on how Millie was doing. She went above and beyond to accommodate our sitting needs and last minute booking. I was able to enjoy my trip with absolutely no worries!!! 🥰 Millie and I have definitely made a great friend and will ask Nancy to care for Millie many more times!! Thank you so much for loving our Millie as much as we do !! 💞”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Irwin
Thanks so much for all you did to keep my furbabies happy! I appreciate you going out of your way to do all that I asked plus the thoughtful little extras like setting out the garbage bag. We had a wonderful time knowing our pups and Bella were having the best care!

5/5 Stars! We couldn't be happier with Rachel. She stayed at our house to watch our two dogs, and she was absolute perfection from start to finish. She gave us regular updates and adorable photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. She was also incredibly flexible when our travel plans shifted slightly. Our home was left spotless, and our pups were happy, relaxed, and well-cared for when we got back. We would rebook with her in a heartbeat!

Brandi provided care for our dog in our home and does such a good job taking care of her and our home. She provided updates for our dog and is always kind and understanding. You can tell she enjoys the pets she works with. We highly recommend Brandi!

Hailey was fantastic, and I highly recommend her. !f you’re still reading this review, stop and book her now. If you need the deets, she house sat for us over a long weekend to watch over our cat, and most importantly, our 16½ year old golden retriever. She was very kind and supportive, just as we knew she would be after meeting her the first time. She took great care of both animals, providing reports daily so we had no worries while we were away. She even helped us deal with a refrigerator emergency in the middle of it all. Through everything, she was calm and extremely competent. Now, go back and book her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Irwin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Irwin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Irwin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Irwin. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
