Caring for animals is one of my greatest passions and joys in life, and the perfect way to supplement my income while I focus on my writing this summer. My 2-year old mixed pup, Wally, is 20 lbs and neutered. He loves people and pets and can come with me if everyone gets along, but can also stay with my mom no problem. I am responsible, communicative, and have extensive experience in pet care — from daily check-ins on a 90lb Pit-bill to administrating oral medications, managing dogs with separation anxiety to farm-sits and volunteering at animal shelters. Our pets are an important part of our family units, and providing the proper attention, affection, patience, and nurturing spirit has always come naturally to me. As well as following all instructions very carefully. It is also my priority to ensure you are confident in leaving them with me. I will always do in-person meet and greets beforehand so they will recognize me when I return. I will also send tons of pictures and videos and can even do FaceTimes so you can see how we're doing. I know it's hard being away from your pets so anything I can do to set your mind at ease is my pleasure :) I've been told I have a positive and loving energy that animals are drawn to. Each animal is unique with their own special little personality, and understanding and respecting that helps me build rapport. I realize what a sensitive (sometimes confusing) time being apart from their family can be, so it's really my top priority to be a great source of comfort and stability for them and to provide as much warmth and positive energy as I can. There may be a family event, appointment, etc. I’ll need to go to, but can adjust depending on how long the pet(s) can be alone for (ex. not more than 4 hours) I’m very attentive and make sure to give the pets care and affection how they want it. From high energy play and walks to low energy cuddles with lots of pets in between.

About: I love dogs (and cats) more than anything! I am happy to treat your fur babies to the finest care during the day, overnight, while you are on vacation, or once in awhile for walks, hikes, check ins, at your place or mine! A popular request this summer has been from folks on visiting who would like me to day sit at their campground/rv/hotel/air bnb while they enjoy the park, biking, boating or going out to eat. For boarding, My husband and I have a wonderful centrally located home in the Acadia region off the island. We have a fenced in yard and can take the stress out of leaving your pets while on vacation. Pick up and drop off can be arranged at the head of the island if requested. Wedding or event coming up? I can be your pets chaperon then too, just ask :) Need to exercise your pup? Mini day hikes available too- custom fit for your pups comfort. This summer I am taking a sabbatical to my career job which means more hiking, walks and freedom to spend time with your pet- with flexible scheduling :) While my home offers a wonderful spacious lawn and garden area for the pups with a secure 4' ht enclosed fence, pets are never left unattended in the area. Happy to board with your routine in mind in terms of crating or free range of our home and total pampering. Pet sitting at your home is welcome too!

About: My name is Molly and I am an Ed Tech/BHP with availability and energy in the summer months. I have a four year old son and a ten year old dog, Zoe. Also popular in our household are Gracie, the seven year old bearded dragon, and Gus, the beta fish. This summer, I have an especially flexible schedule, but am happy to support you and your pet’s needs all year around. Although it is not my primary career focus, I have been involved in pet care for 20 years as a source of outside income and great passion. I am new to rover and still figuring out what works best but am always willing to work with clients on what works best for them and their pets. Animals are my first priority but I also believe homes and personal spaces are sacred and I will always treat them with respect and attention. All animals are different so its important to use to always be aware of anything potentially unsafe. Our home is for animals first and there is nowhere they aren't allowed although animal guests and clients are always fully supervised to make sure they are safe and comfortable. About: Animal Care Technician with extensive experience with dogs, cats and rodents. Cannot train but am trained on proper handling, walking and administering oral medication. 19 years of experience with dogs from pup to elder (including dogs with medical issues) and 5 years experience with cats from kitten to elder (including cats with medical issues). I am currently not working and have a flexible schedule for anyone looking for booking! I will not be allowing boading or doggy day care at this time due to remodeling but I am willing to house sit, do scheduled drop in's and dog walking. My current schedule includes every day except for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings due to current client bookings. I do not currently house any pets but I have owned dogs and cats for years before and have extensive experience caring for pets of family and friends.

About: Hi!! I grew up with dogs, a pit lab and a yorkie, and I used to clean dog kennels and feed them at the pope humane animal shelter! And I recently a few months ago did a two week house sitting/ dog sitting job! I am a huge fan of dogs :) I’m a recent college student who has always just wanted to take care of people’s pets while at college, unfortunately it’s much more difficult up there, but now I’m home and I get the chance to see others pets more easily! It fits in super well currently, I’m available usually 24/7 just need to know at least a few days in advance! I make sure that I keep my eye on animals, especially puppies/kittens. I know they can be all over the place, I like to stick near them and make sure I have available numbers in case something were to go wrong.

About: I've owned two high energy and high maintenance dogs for the past 5 years, I've owned cats for 15 years. I currently volunteer at an animal shelter caring for cats, dogs, and small animals. I used to compete in dog shows and have followed through with training many dogs thought my early childhood until now. I now am training dogs, working on harness training cats and enjoy taking care of as many pets as possible. I'm currently working part time but do not have shifts longer than 6 hours and mostly work online, so I just need WiFi available for me to work while house sitting. This is a non smoking non drinking household that is quiet and has no other animals. There is a large fenced back yard and a large non-fenced front yard, but the house is on a quiet lightly trafficked street in a not so busy part of town.

About: Beside always having family dogs and other pets growing up I’ve pet sat for friends, professors and even my own personal dog trainer. I love connecting with pets and helping make their days as fulfilled as they deserve. I work a very flexible five days a week job for a friend’s business. I generally have off Tuesdays and Wednesdays weekly and would love to add some more dogs into that routine. I won’t be able to care for any pets in my own home currency due to roommate preferences. But in your home I’d be happy to follow whatever guidelines you have to make your pet comfortable. I love working on basic training to support your current efforts if desired or just throwing the ball as part of their normal routine.

About: I've been in contact with dogs as long as I've been walking and talking. My parents always had a pack of 4 running around the house and my brothers and I were frequently helping out with feeding, walking, etc. I used to spend a lot of my weekends with my mom’s poodle, trimming his unruly coat! I also have owned rats, fish and cats, and am comfortable caring for them, as well as birds. Just let me know if you have a smaller critter that needs some care! I have experience with farm animals such as horses and chickens, and am happy to watch goats, cows, you name it!! I work a remote job from home as a Peer Support Specialist, so while dog sitting, I can remain in your home all day to watch over your pets! I clicker train my dog Artemis and have mini training sessions everyday with her. I'm more than happy to include your dog if you let me know what you'd like to work on. I also have experience with reactive dogs, as my late mastiff mix came into my care with an extreme case of stranger reactivity that I managed. So, if your pup is timid or shy, I will for sure still take them on and give them the best experience catering to their specific fears. I know owning a reactive dog can be isolating and stressful. Let me take some of that stress away by being understanding of your pups and their needs! I’m more than happy to arrange meet and greets to discuss fido’s specific needs and let them get used to my presence. Understanding and listening is important in managing reactivity, and I’m more than happy to be that person!

About: I’ve worked at 2 doggy daycares in the last few years where we did boarding. I’ve also worked in a cat boarding facility and have worked at pet stores for about 5-6 years. I was trusted with cleaning up after and giving medications to pets that needed it. I’m currently working part time in Freeport so I’ll have plenty of time to take care of your pets and spend time with them and take them on walks depending on weather. I live in a wooded area with access to tie outs so your pets and I could sit outside on good days and play. I have an extra room in the house where I can easily board your pet but would require you to bring a crate if they’re crate trained depending on the size of the pet. I do have two crates available that I could use if you’re unable to bring their crate. I have 2 cats in the household along with my fiance so they would have to be cat and man friendly.
