“Sheryl is amazing and so good with Olive, Henrietta, and Hazel!! I never have to worry when she is sitting with the girls!! I highly recommend Sheryl for pet sitting!! Thank you Sheryl!!”

About: Background/experience in veterinary medicine. I am very comfortable with giving medication, taking care of special needs/senior pets. I treat every pet as if they are my own. I currently own my own equine business which means I set my own hours. I am a very active person so including other animal duties into my daily life is not difficult. I treat each pet as if they were my own. I would do everything I could to keep them comfortable in their own home while their owners are away. Even if that means sitting on the floor while they take a nap so they don't feel alone.
“Claire was great with our pups! We did an initial meet-and-greet and could tell she loved dogs and would take good care of ours. During the stay, she sent updates and the pups looked like they were having a great time! She was communicative and reliable.”
About: I’ve always been around animals. I got my first dog at age 8 and have always had one since. I love all animals and will love yours like my own. I am a stay at home mom so I have a very flexible schedule. I can house sit or do drop in visits depending on the need. I have a fully fenced backyard on half an acre so there is plenty of space for the dogs to run and have so much fun!
About: Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve looked after pets for friends and family treating each one like my own. From energetic puppies to senior pets who need extra patience, I make sure every animal gets the attention, affection, and care they deserve. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my home, they’ll enjoy a calm, loving environment with plenty of play, cuddles, and attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine so they feel secure and comfortable. I make sure they’re well-fed, exercised, and given lots of love while you’re away. I plan my schedule to make sure pets get the time and attention they deserve. While I work Monday–Thursday from 8–5, I’m available before and after work for walks, feedings, and quality time. I have full availability on weekends, so I can dedicate extra time for play, longer walks, and overnight care.
About: Having shared my home with every kind of pet since I was a child, I bring a deep, intuitive understanding to pet care that goes beyond the basics. This extensive experience has given me a special skill for navigating the unique challenges of both ends of the spectrum: I excel at the positive reinforcement needed for training energetic puppies and have the gentle, patient touch required to provide comfort and specialized care for senior pets. When you entrust me with your furry family member, you're choosing a sitter who offers not just reliability, but a genuine, experienced friendship for your pet I have the wonderful luxury of a completely open schedule, which allows me to make pet care my top priority. This means your pet gets my undivided attention, and I can be there for them consistently throughout the day, every day. My approach to in-home pet care is to provide seamless, consistent care while maintaining your pet's normal routine. I minimize their stress by keeping them in their familiar environment. If needed to stay in your own home. If they were to come to my home: I have 3 young kids, however if necessary to be away from kids we could do in your home. When pets stay with me, they become part of my family. My home is a safe, loving, and pet-centric environment where they receive constant attention.
About: Over 4 years of dog walking and pet sitting (references gladly available) Skilled in managing high-energy dogs — I love long walks, runs, fetch sessions, and active play Also experienced with senior, fragile, or special-needs dogs, making sure they’re handled gently and safely Volunteered at a local animal shelter in middle school, walking and socializing dogs In high school, volunteered ~1 year at Camden Veterinary Clinic, assisting with animal care, handling, and general support Participated in dog rescue efforts, including fostering, transport, and rehabilitation Comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments — from overactive pit mixes to nervous small breeds Dependable, responsible, and not squeamish — able to clean up accidents, administer oral medications, or assist with basic care One client often led to many: many bookings come via referrals I'm currently attending school at USC, which leaves me with plenty of time around my classes. With my schedule, I only have class on certain days and am also free on weekends. I follow your instructions and guidance on pet care, while being mindful of your pet's health and well-being. I'm very observant and attuned to when a pet needs affection, exercise, or a bathroom break. I'm not intimidated by high-energy dogs. I've regularly walked and sat for large breeds that require a lot of exercise. I have dealt with "accidents" and administered medicine. I can be as communicative as you'd like, sending photos while you're away to make sure you feel good about your pet.
“This gentleman is the man! He was so attentive with our dogs and consistently updated us on how things were going. I would definitely recommend him to others!”

I am also available to care on weekends when you are away. Pet sitting is something i have always loved! My dogs are set on a routine. We feed them once a day and that typically is in the mornings. About: For the past 5 years i’ve taken on the amazing job of pet sitting. I’ve sat for numerous families ranging from a single pet, to multiple - of all different ages. I’ve administered medications to elderly dogs daily, taken 3 dogs on a walk at once and played with all sorts of cool animals over the years! As a stay at home mama, to my 2 year old daughter my days are usually open and flexible to accommodate whatever needs you and your pet may have! I’m currently a full-time online student, in which I’m able to be home all day. Your pets needs will be tended to immediately throughout the day, along with numerous potty breaks and a lot of love and attention. Currently, we live on 5 acres out in the country. While we have plenty of land to go on walks, we do not have a fenced in yard currently. Come summer of this year, we are hoping to have our back yard fenced in which will provide much more peace of mind for the owners and freeness for your pets.

About: I have been around pets all my life. Volunteered as a foster mom for the humane society and took home pets that needed medication given to them. Been around active dogs like Dalmatians and Australian Shepherds as well as older, docile dogs. Did puppy training classes when I raised my Australian shepherd. I work full time so if you request a booking with me I may send you back a message with the hours I work during that time frame. I've also lowered my rates below Rovers "suggested" numbers and made it to where you can "potentially" book me last minute (If my schedule works for you, obviously). I would love to be that sitter that is helping out someone who maybe had a sitter cancel at the last minute or you had an unexpected event happen and didn't really have it in the budget to hire a pet sitter on top of everything else. Or you are just a frugal gal/guy like me and don't think it should break the bank to hire someone to watch your fur children 😊 I can crate your pets when needed, take them on walks, can administer medications if needed. I work well with lists or rules set out to follow for your pets best care in your home.
“Tyler was great with Klooney and Brutus! He sent us daily updates with photos. The house and our dogs were very well taken care of. We will be sure to ask Tyler to sit for us again in the future.”
“Morgan did a great job taking care of our beagle child Lucky. We planned a trip with short notice and couldn’t be happier that we found Morgan and she was available to provide in home care for Lucky. It was our first time using her but won’t be the last. We found her to be very attentive, accommodating to any special requests, responsible and reliable. The regular updates she provided us made us feel less guilty about leaving her behind. We highly recommend Morgan and Lucky does too! 🐶”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
