“Jen took wonderful care of our dog while we were out of town. She is a great communicator, giving us lots of peace of mind, especially since this was our dog’s first time with an in home sitter. Our dog has special medical needs with a prescription eye drop that Jen took care of twice daily. We loved getting updates and seeing the pics of him out for breaks, getting scritches, bully rubs, and going on walks. Jen has a love of pets that shines through and we felt like she totally got our sweet silly boy. We look forward to booking Jen again in the future!”

“Samantha has been so wonderful with my Australian Shepard. She gives amazing updates and always sends multiple picture updates! She is a great and compassionate sitter, Jonee and I appreciate her!”

About: I love all types of dog breeds and work with all different kind of dogs! I’ve done dog sitting and dog boarding for the past 5 years in Madison ! I love getting to know each dog. I mostly have availability for pet sitting and check ins right now, I have a trusted client base in the area and would love to get to know your animals!! I love going for walks ! Why not take a cute dog to get some energy out ! I feel every dog deserves a daily walk! Theres a huge local dog dog park! I like bringing toys and balls to play! When I’m pet sitting I like to make sure they go out every 3-4 hours
About: I worked 8 years, almost 9, and The Dog Hut LLC. I've helped care for dogs as young as 2 months and dogs well into their senior years. I'm happy to give medication to any dogs that need it and make sure they get extra cuddles and someone to "talk to". I am also very open to more than just dogs. I worked for 4 years at the Dane County Humane Society caring for Guinee Pigs, rats, and a non venomous snake. I am currently between jobs so any day works well for me. I'm happy to come late morning and well into the night to feed, water, and play with your pets who need that. Or just lend a happy presence, for the cats and cat-like pets who just need a simple hello. At my home I do not have a fully fenced in yard but am within walking distance of a few paths so even if your dog will be on leash they will get a wonderful walk in. Bringing their own toys and comfort items will be needed as I only have a cat currently. Also your dog must be cat friendly or will need to have a kennel brought with them should they be staying. I am okay staying over at my client's place should the need arise, can give medication and will give them all the playtime and snuggle breaks they need. I will be wary of weather changes so I can give them quick breaks outside and make sure they still can get energy out should it be an inside kind of day.

“Sarah was very easy to communicate with while she had multiple check ins for my cat. Her responses were timely and met expectations. I feel comfortable having her watch my pet in the future.”

“Sabrina was wonderful with my little kitten, Basil! Having never had a sitter watch her before, I wasn’t sure how she would do with strangers and it turn out she’s a little shy. Sabrina was so patient with her and did such a good job of making Basil feel as comfortable as she could. I was really impressed with the detailed updates Sabrina gave while I was away as well. Would highly recommended her services!”

“Brianna was very kind and caring with Helen and Violet. She made sure they had good food and clean water each day. She spent quality time playing with both cats, petting them and making sure Violet, the major lap cat, had plenty of lap time :) Brianna sent great photos of Helen and Vi. My family and I enjoyed the photos immensely at our Christmas gathering :)”

About: I have a lot of experience pet sitting for neighbors and family members. I can clean litter boxes, feed pets, walk dogs, and play with your pets. I have three pets of my own, so pet care is part of my daily routine. I spend a lot of time making sure they have everything they need. I will carefully follow all of your instructions, and make sure your pets have everything they need. I love to play with the animals and just hang out with them.
“Alissa was wonderful as always! I’ve booked with Alissa a few times now, and she goes above and beyond with all the pictures she sends and very detailed updates after each visit. She’s helped clean up after accidents and keep my cats from getting into any mischief.”

“Carley is a delight and such a wonderful sitter! Incredibly sweet and a natural with animals, I had no worry at all leaving my pups in her care. Regular check-ins and photo updates throughout the weekend. I highly recommend Carley and will definitely try to book her again.”

“We really appreciated Hannah. She was prompt and professional and showed immense comfort around my 3 dogs who had never been let out by someone they didn't know. I'd use her every time!”

“I hired Kara for drop-in visits with my dogs while I was away. She was outstanding in every way! First, she’s just a really nice, down-to-earth person & I felt comfortable with her as soon as we met. She did exactly what we planned as far as the drop-in schedule, sent updates, pictures, and took exceptional care of my dogs. There’s no doubt I will be using her again!!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 816 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Nora. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nora. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
