“I booked April at the last minute for an emergency trip and my boys took right to her! April did a consult visit the day before and her follow-up was impeccable. We will definitely be using April again. My boys were not stressed out at all when I arrived back home and that itself is worth a million words; priceless.”

“Jesse was very punctual and communicative when taking care of our 4 cats with their different feeding requirements. I will definitely use Jesse again next time I need a pet sitter! Kristin”

“Amanda did a fantastic job with our 3 cats! She even took care of some plants that got delivered to us. She sent us daily pictures of the kitties and even swept up after them. We would not hesitate to ask her to care of our kitties again!”

“Kim and her daughter took excellent care of our sweet cat named Alice. They visited her daily, rain or shine. Alice is very social and loves attention. They gave her plenty of petting, freshen her bowls of water, refilled dry food, gave wet food, and treats. They also scooped her litter box daily. Alice was happy to have their attention and she was very well cared for during our 4 night absence. I highly recommend Kim as a pet sitter.”

“Nyla was an amazing Rover! She was able to work with us last minute and was very flexible. She was also amazing with our difficult dog! Can't wait to book with her in the future.”

“I was really worried when I had to find someone to care for my cat, Pippin, last minute but Ami was quick to respond and was an amazing help. And Pippin really seemed enjoyed the attention that she gave him.”

“Emilee was amazing!! She took great care of our two large dogs while we visited in Cosby. She was very professional and great with communication, I appreciated the photos she shared of their walks and that she marked when the visit started/ended. Left us with such peace of mind while on vacation. Highly recommend!!”

“So happy Rosaria was available for my last minute booking. I will definitely be using her in the future she’s so kind and sweet to my dogs they loved their time with her. She went above and beyond letting them play out all their energy.”
About: I have been a pet owner my entire life and have always had dogs or cats in my home. My wife and I currently have a dog who we adopted from a shelter. My wife is a certified Dog Trainer and is also employed by the local Humane Society, so we are both involved in the care of animals and absolutely love it! I mention this only to better emphasize our mutual love for animals. She has her own job and business and will not be assisting me in any way in my endeavor to employ myself as a Dog/Cat sitter/walker/care giver, etc. I am retired, and as such I am available most every day to help anyone in need of services, little to no advance notice necessary. I am retired and run a small book selling business out of my home. My business only takes an hour or so of my time each morning, so I am available almost anytime every day of the week to help care for dogs/cats. I have a senior dog in my home at the moment, a dog that my wife and I adopted from a rescue shelter. She is an inside dog, but we have 10 acres so when she goes out, she has freedom to run around. For clients, I am comfortable with any type of service necessary. I can take care of dogs in the house, take them for walks, feed them, hang out for a bit and play with them, etc. Most any service you need, I can do. I do take care of cats as well, although they do not really need much other than cleaning up, feeding, and some attention.
“Abi was terrific! Very quick in responses and great with all her communications. She did a fantastic job and sent me plenty of updates and pictures. I am definitely going to be using her services again!”

About: I have had pets all my life. I love them all…especially the doggies! We have four rescue pups, a bunny and and a bearded dragon so we share the love with all different animals. I started a dog treat bakery business a couple of years ago that’s really starting to grow, so I’m now transitioning from the 9-5 job so I can pursue my passion for animals full time. I own my own dog bakery and work from home, so my availability is very flexible. We have an 11 acre farm with 2 separate “dog yards”. I will take your dog(s) for long walks and of course playtime if they like, give them food water and treats as needed, and I’m happy to accommodate with any special requests if your fur baby has a favorite activity, treat, or any special needs.

About: Animals have always naturally gravitated toward me, and caring for them genuinely makes me happy. I’m the kind of person who notices when a pet wants comfort, quiet, playtime, or just someone calm to sit with them. I especially love creating a peaceful, loving environment where pets feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I’m very respectful of people’s homes, clean, dependable, and communicative. I know how vulnerable it can feel leaving your pets with someone else, so I treat every animal with real patience, affection, and attention — not just as a job, but because I truly love being around them. I’m also available for overnight stays, house sitting, feeding, walks, companionship, bringing in mail, watering plants, and helping keep things running smoothly while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule right now, which allows me to give pets lots of attention, affection, and companionship throughout the day. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making them feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m available for house sitting, drop-ins, walks, and overnight care most weekdays and weekends. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets and being in your home, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I’m dependable, attentive, and genuinely loving with animals. I pay close attention to routines, feeding instructions, medications, and the little things that help pets feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll always treat your home with respect, keep things clean and tidy, and make sure you receive regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease.

“Sydney is amazing!! She helped me out with my puppy very last minute. She always came on time and followed instructions perfectly! A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newport. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
