“Berlyn put me at ease by coming to meet Rocco beforehand. His size often intimidates people but he took to her immediately. He’s never stayed with anyone who wasn’t family & super familiar with but everything went smoothly! Will be booking Berlyn for my future travel dates!”

“Alyssa was amazing! We went away for a weekend and she stayed with our (needy, dramatic, loving, sweet) old dog. Our dog loves her and seemed to take to her immediately. We’ll definitely work with Alyssa again”

“Debra did a great job. She sent lots of videos and pictures. Both pups loved her. It’s always tough to be so far away from our 2 dogs, but we had nothing to worry about. She also came to our house before we left on vacation so we could relax and also staying till our follow up sitter came. So we were very happy with her.”

About: I have worked at doggy daycare for over 5 years. I am able to give your fur child the time and attention that they crave or just to be there for them. I'm also available for other animals too. If you have need for sitting or care for them too. Just message me for more details I have two dogs one is a blood hound mix she is 7 years old and black lab who is 8 years old. They both get along well with other dogs and are really friendly. I have a flexible schedule which allows me to be able to come to your place or have your pet come and stay with me. I can either come to your home and care for your pet at your place or at my home. I have a large gated deck and a nice side yard. The dog park is just a block away which gives the dogs a nice place to run around and hang out with other dogs.
About: I’ve been a dog owner my entire life and have had experience owning other pets such as geckos, cats, and snakes. I’ve been a pet sitter for a little over two years. My true passion for pet sitting comes from my desire to be accompanied by them, dogs specifically. I work with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and personalities. Dogs of all backgrounds tend to gravitate towards me and I have never had any negative interactions. While studying for my undergrad, I was actually in charge of all the live animal specimens present on the University grounds. Feeding, exercise, and handling/care were done daily, which can explain my comfortability and familiarity with pet care. I currently am home as I finish my masters degree online so my daily schedule is fairly free. I workout and do part-time contract work when I am not doing schoolwork. I’m extremely flexible and will be willing to meet your needs as best as possible. Simply put, I treat the pets like they are my own. I ensure they are met with sufficient attention, exercise, nutrition, and safety while under my supervision. Minimizing stress is my biggest concern (my dog has separation anxiety so I know how it can be). I’ve found it helpful in the past to use my own dog as a bridge between myself and the client’s pet, as his presence tends to build confidence and reassurance.
“We are so thankful we found Caylene! Our dogs love her & had the best time with her while we were away. It’s always comforting to have someone you can trust to care for your fur babies when you’re not home. The dogs can’t wait for their next visit!”
About: Hello! My name is Kacey, and I’m an experienced pet sitter and dog walker with a lifelong passion for animals. I began caring for pets in elementary school, helping my neighbors by walking their dogs and watching their pets while they were away. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with dogs of all sizes and a wide variety of breeds. During high school, I also job shadowed at a veterinary clinic, where I gained valuable hands on knowledge about animal care, behavior, and overall wellbeing. This experience further strengthened my ability to provide attentive and compassionate care. When your pet is in my care, I am committed to going above and beyond to ensure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and care for your furry family members! I maintain a very flexible schedule, and I do my best to accommodate each client’s needs. Even on busy days, I will work to ensure I can fit you in whenever possible. When staying in your home, I will treat it with the utmost respect and leave everything exactly as I found it. I will never make any changes or take any actions without your consent. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority.

About: I’ve taken care of animals of all kinds since I was a child - dogs (large and small), cats, horses, turtles, rabbits, even chickens! I have experience in puppy training and care, adult dog and cat care, dog walking, pet-sitting, farm-sitting, and house-sitting. I truly enjoy taking care of animals and will do my best to ensure their utmost safety and happiness while in my care. I’m a college student with quite a bit of availability during my long winter and summer breaks. I am fully available any time of the day or week from Dec 20 - Jan 19 and after May 9 of the current year. Outside of my college breaks, I will have more limited time for pet care, but will still be available most weekends and some of the time on weekdays. After January 19, 2026, I will be unavailable from 8am-12:30pm on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays, unavailable Tuesdays from 7:30-11:00am, and unavailable Fridays from 12:30-6:30pm due to my class schedule. I currently care for my family’s own pets, including two friendly dogs, three cats, and three horses. I live at a home with a large yard in a quiet neighborhood. The yard is unfenced as our family dogs stay within the perimeter of our home. For this reason I will leash or clip client dogs to a long line when taking them outside for their own safety, unless the owner is confident in their recall abilities and/or specifically grants them permission to be off leash while supervised. Pets will always have access to clean drinking water, and I have a few dog crates available to use upon request for dogs who may benefit from one (for up to medium-large size). Our two family dogs (a labradoodle and a sheltie) are very friendly, healthy, up to date on all vaccines, and would love to play with your fur babies if they are friendly and healthy in turn. If boarding your dog at my house, I have limited ability to separate client pets from our two dogs, so if you would prefer your dog to not interact with others, I would suggest choosing a pet-sitting service where I come to the pet, rather than the boarding service where the pet comes to me. I encourage owners to send me a detailed list of any specific instructions you may have regarding your fur baby’s care.
About: I love dogs, cats, lizards, and everything in between! I’ve grown up with them my whole life and have taken care of them as well. I currently have 2 dogs myself, a lab and a poodle. I’ve done paid pet sitting a few times for family friends and neighbors, staying overnight at their homes and caring for their animals while they’re away.😊 I work part-time at a jewelry store, as well as substituting occasionally at a preschool during the day. I’m always available for overnight. Unfortunately my dogs would not like another dog or cat in my home, but I’m happy to go to yours! I’m comfortable with you having cameras to check on your fur babies and I can check in during the day, play with them, and sleepover with them 😊

“Emily was wonderful! She stayed at our house for the weekend to look after our dog, and he was so well cared for. We loved the updates she sent and came home to one very happy pup. Highly recommend!”

About: I received my Bachelor's Degree in Animal Studies from Wilson College. I was a Kennel Technician at a boarding facility as well as a doggy daycare for a few years. I am currently a Veterinary Assistant at an Animal Clinic. I enjoy taking care of animals and providing the best care. I work full time during the week, but I am available weekends and can provide pet care during the evenings after work depending on location. Depending on the needs of the animal, I will provide the proper care as per the owners request. I like to know specific details to make everyone feel comfortable.

“Jenna was absolutely fabulous when watching our baby, Bella, for a weekend! First of all she’s so incredibly sweet and we knew Bella would be in loving hands. Jenna focused on doing all the things Bella loved: playing fetch in the yard, going to the dog park, long walks, and cuddles in bed! Despite rainy weather, Jenna still took the time to do all these things with her. At the end of day Jenna sent many pictures of Bella’s day and sent a sweet recap! It felt so good from miles away knowing Bella was having the time of her life (most likely not even missing mom & dad!) She even worked on commands with her, which is much appreciated!!! Jenna also left our home like she was never even there! Clean and bed sheets stripped for easy washing :) Thank you Jenna!!! If you want someone to love your dog like their own - book Jenna!”

“kayla was great! She had to put up with my old dog that had diarrhea and handled i multiple accidents and cleanupvery well. Kept in contact with me and updated me accordingly. Would highly recommend her.”

“Taylor was a last minute lifesaver because I accidentally booked the wrong dates with our regular in home dog sitter. Outside of this, Taylor did an awesome job with our three rambunctious dogs, sent updates with pictures and even vacuumed before she left. We can’t wait to rebook with Taylor!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newburg. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
