About: Greetings! My name is Cassie, and I am a self-proclaimed crazy corgi mom. I have had dogs of my own for 14 years (corgis named Camden and Savannah), and cats for over 20 years. I also worked at a veterinary clinic from age 16 to 20 - full disclosure, I was a receptionist, not a vet tech. However, my time there has helped develop my comfort with furry friends of all sizes. I have no fear of any breeds. I have worked with Great Danes, Mastiffs, Rottweilers, Pitt Bulls, GSD, and more. I am a military veteran with a law enforcement background. I know how nerve-wracking inviting a stranger into your home to take care of your loved ones. Trust is earned, and I hold myself to a high standard. My day job has very flexible hours during the summer, so I have plenty of availability during the day to help care for your pets. I have taken care of dogs who needed oral medication and sub-dermal injections. I am also comfortable giving insulin to cats, though not oral medication (unless liquid). I work for ISU, so during the summer, I have a very flexible schedule. As long as I have time to take care of my own dogs (a senior and puppy), I am available to assist folks with their own pets. There are several things I consider when walking dogs: 1) Familiarity of the area for your dog / their anxiety (if any) - If your dog is anxious, I don't want to take them to areas they are not comfortable. This is especially true when they do not know me well yet. I'd rather do several laps near the home than stress them out. 2) Weather - It's hot out there. I will stick to walks on grass whenever possible to ensure their paws are not damaged by hot concrete. On particularly hot days, I would prefer to keep the walk short, followed by play inside. 3) Traffic in the area - Safety first!

“Thankful for Abigail. She made sure my Sky dog had plenty of water and always turns my alarm back on when the walk is complete. She is easy to communicate with over text and I love seeing the pictures of Sky before and after the walks.”

About: I have been around animals my entire life! I grew up with multiple dogs, a cat, and goats! I currently have a dog named Blaire and 2 cats named Annabelle and Sidney who are my babies. To top off the craziness I also have over 10 reptiles at home who are soiled rotten. I am a full time car salesman at Terre Haute CDJR but I promise I have plenty of time to help care for your babies! Luckily with my job I have plenty of opportunities to leave if I need to so it won’t be an issue when it comes to caring for your pets. I try to provide the best possible environment for all pets that I am caring for! Whether that’s finding the perfect toy or simply helping them run off some energy I’m more than happy to do it :)

I'm comfortable with cleaning messes and giving most medications. Dog Walking: I’ll make sure your pup gets their daily dose of exercise and fun. Whether they’re big or small, new or vintage, energetic or chill, I’ll adjust the walk to suit their needs. I ask you for details about your pet’s favorite activities, spots they like to hang out, and any quirks they may have so I can make sure they're comfortable and happy. I make sure to spend quality time with them, whether it's cuddling, playing, or just being there to keep them company. I understand how unsettling it can be for pets when their owners are away, so I prioritize offering reassurance and comfort. About: As a pet sitter, there are several qualities and skill that set me apart from others in the industry. While many pet sitters have a genuine love for animals, I believe it takes more than just love to truly excel in this role. One of the key skills that I possess is my strong observational skills. I am able to quickly assess a pet’s behavior and mood, allowing me to anticipate any potential issues or take action if nescessary. This skill is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of the pets under my care. In additon, I have a high level of patience and understanding when it comes to working with pets. I understand that each pet is unique and may have specific needs or preferences. By being patient and attentive, I am able to build a strong rapport with the pets I care for, making them feel comfortable and secure in my presence. Furthermore, I have excellent communication skills, both with pets and their owners. I am able to effectively communicate with pets through body language and vocal cues, making it easier for me to understand their needs and respond accordingly. When it comes to communicating with pet owners, I am able to provide regular updates and feedback to keep them informed and reassured about their pet’s well-being. Reviews are always appreciated. Currently most of my available days are Saturdays and Sundays. If you are needing a care giver on weekdays please feel free to contact me. If I am available I would be happy to help. Caring for pets on a walk is an essential part of being a responsible pet sitter. Walking your pet provides them with excercise and mental stimulation. To ensure that your pet is well taken care of during our walk there are several important steps that I follow. First and foremost, it is crucial to make sure that the pet is properly leashed and under my control at all times. This is not only for the safety of the pet, but others as well as the sitter. Proper leashing depends on the size and weight of your dog. I am mindful of your pets physical needs and limitations. If your dog has medial conditions or is older please consider booking shorter walks. Weather is also an important factor within dog walking. If weather is too severe and I do not think it is safe for your pet … I will ask you to reschedule. Please check the weather before booking. I am mindful of your pets body language, and other cues during our walk. If I am sensing something may be upsetting your pet … I will contact you immediately. No need to provide poop bags … I always bring extra. Caring for pets on a walk involves a combination of proper equipment, consideration of their physical needs, attentiveness to their behavior and respect for the environment. By following these guidelines and taking the time to ensure your pet is happy and safe … I am creating a positive and enjoyable experience for both you and your pet.

“Cassandra kept my big dog Roux for me, and she went above and beyond. She has previous vet tech experience, too, which is a huge plus. She took my big guy on a walk to go potty before leaving after keeping him company while I had a trip out of town. Roux has a more complex diet than others, so she mixed the food for him according to instructions. Rougaroux and I give her to thumbs and four paws way up!”

“Sadie cared for my five cats for me while I was gone for a week. They all have health issues and require multiple meds, on varying days, and they’re on multiple prescription foods (all needing to eat their own) which she handled very well. She provided updates with photos twice daily, and really helped to ease my nerves of leaving them. She stayed with them for extended periods, keeping them company, which I didn’t require, but really appreciated her doing. I now feel that I can leave them for future vacations because I have someone I can trust to do a good job.”

She is experienced with several different types of dog breeds, cats, and even lizards. She will play with animals to make sure they’re using the energy that higher energy breeds need to use throughout the day while also being able to make sure they’re comfy when they’re chilling down and comfortable near her. Lauryn is one of the best people I’ve ever personally seen with animals”
