About: Giant breed dog owner with 25+ years of hands-on experience, as well as a current toy breed owner, giving me the knowledge and confidence to care for dogs of all sizes and personalities. Experienced with daily care, exercise, feeding routines, medications, senior support, and understanding breed-specific needs for both large and small dogs. I’ve also owned and cared for cats for over 25 years through every life stage — from kittens to seniors — and understand the importance of patience, comfort, routine, and individualized attention for each pet. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, large, small, young, or senior, I provide reliable, attentive care tailored to their unique needs. As a small business owner, I have the flexibility to schedule my day around your dog or cat’s routine and care needs, allowing for consistent, dependable, and timely visits. This flexibility helps ensure your pets receive attentive care, companionship, exercise, and comfort while you’re away. I focus on keeping your dog or cat’s routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible while you’re away. During each visit, I provide feeding, fresh water, walks or playtime, and thorough litter box cleaning when needed, while making sure your pet’s environment stays clean, safe, and comfortable. I take time to observe your pet’s behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, since even small changes can be important. Whether your pet is energetic and social or more reserved and independent, I’m happy to provide enrichment, exercise, affection, or quiet companionship based on their individual personality and comfort level. I always treat your home with respect, keeping things tidy and secure, and I provide regular updates with photos so you can feel confident knowing your pets are happy and well cared for while you’re away.
“Kimberly was great with communicating about the walk with my dog. She gave detailed explanations and took a few pictures. She was also able to accommodate a next day walk which is always great! I definitely recommend her!”

About: I have had dogs in my household ever since I was a little girl. I have had a chocolate lab, boxer mix, basset hound, German shepard, pit bull, and now Mr. Oakley who is a lab/pit mix. I love to bond and care for fur babies and I enjoy playing and loving on them any chance I can get. Hi! I’m currently a full-time teacher in Anne Arundel County and an experienced caregiver who loves spending time with animals. My background in education has made me responsible, communicative, and dependable. Starting in June, I’ll have a much more flexible schedule as I transition from teaching, allowing me to offer more availability for walks and drop-ins. I can’t wait to meet your furry family members! I care for my pets in my home by making sure their food and water bowls are always full and fresh. I make sure that my dog gets some outdoor playtime each day to burn off his energy and to be able to stay healthy and to help us bond together. I love to spoil my dog with homemade popsicles, treats, and yogurt bars are his favorite! My dog loves to have all attention on him and he is a sucker for a belly rub followed by jumping in your bed to snuggle with you.

About: I love animals with all my heart. I’ve never met a pet who hasn’t loved me. I agree with the statement that animals are very energy in tune and I’d like to think so am I! I’ve done lots of dog sitting and cat sitting jobs for people close to me and they’re satisfied with how I did, so you 100% will be too. Your pet is in responsible, attentive hands. I have a free schedule and I’m in desperate need of a side hustle. I have too much free time and I think this would be the perfect thing to book my schedule with, especially because of how much I love being outside and animals. I’m very mindful of the safety even of my own animals so your pet is in the best of hands. Although my yard is not fenced, I take my dog out for walks leashed and for the few times she has escaped, I’m not near any major roads for there to be any accidents or for her to be in harm’s way. I am very vigilant and I would never put your animals or my own at risk because pets are apart of the family and I’d never let anything happen to a family member, even yours.

“What a lovely person. Carrie is a treasure. Not only did she come to meet Archer prior to the booking but she really left such a detailed report. That means a lot that she took the time to let me know how things went. She even performed small gestures for my home that really warmed my heart.. I would happily book again with Carrie. 10/10”

“Lydia walks our one-year Papillon Mix several days per week. She's always timely and provides us updates after each walk. Our dog is always happy when we get home from work. We highly recommend Lydia for walks!”

About: I am a lover of all animals and always have been. I had a dog growing up and currently have a spoiled dog named Snickers. I used to help a friend groom dogs also. I am currently between jobs so I am available and want to keep myself active during this down time. I have a dog of my own but I figured spending more time outdoors and with animals will be beneficial to my mental health. I walk my dog multiple times a day around our neighborhood. We often go to the beach where he loves to explore. Occasionally, we will go to the dog park. I have house-sat for other dogs in their homes, and when we aren't outside playing, I will cuddle on the couch and watch movies with the animals and give them lots of pets.

About: I provide reliable, attentive care for dogs with a strong focus on safety, structure, and positive experiences. I have professional experience working in a dog kennel and daycare facility, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. This included supervising playgroups, maintaining safe environments, and closely monitoring behavior and wellbeing. I’m comfortable with dogs who are energetic, shy, or reactive, and I always prioritize reading body language and maintaining a calm, controlled environment. I follow feeding and walking routines closely and make sure each dog receives the attention and care they need based on their personality. My goal is to give owners peace of mind knowing their dog is safe, well cared for, and treated with patience and respect. I keep a structured but flexible schedule that allows me to reliably provide pet care throughout the week. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on the day, and I plan my commitments in advance to ensure I can be consistent and dependable for each booking. I care for pets in their own home by keeping their routine consistent and their environment calm and safe. I follow all instructions closely and make sure feeding, walks, litter/cleanup, and any special care needs are done properly. I also take time to observe each pet’s behavior and comfort level so they feel secure while their owner is away. I treat every home with respect and always aim to leave things as clean and organized as I found them.
“Jalisa was very helpful with my dog. I was in town for work and she walked my dog each day and made sure she had something to drink at the end of the walk. She provided pictures and updates throughout their time together. She was willing to meet me on the day that I arrived in town so my dog would be familiar with her on the next day when she would have to get her without me being home. She was accommodating although it was a last minute booking. I would definitely use her again.”

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mutual. On Rover:
- 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
