“Our Lucy is a pandemic dog who gets very sad when she is alone. Our Alexa notifies us of her mournful cries. However, with just 2 visits a day Rebecca divided her with enough engagement and affection that we never received even one notification over a 3 day period!! You brought games for Lucy to play and loved on her like she was her own.l She brought games for Lucy to play and loved on her like she was her own. We are entering our older years and Lucy is a young dog. There are some rules that we have for her so that she does not become too exuberant for our aging bodies. Rebecca, listened to those closely when she met us and reinforced them for us, when she was here. That is very important to us for Lucy's overall training and for us being able to keep her for a long time. When we did the meet and greet with Rebecca, Lucy formed an attachment to her. We used Rebecca's name often during that visit. When I told Lucy that we were leaving for 3 days, her ears went down - when I told her Rebecca was coming to visit her ears perked up.”

I love treating pets with the utmost care and respect. My availability is open. I am a dog lover. Always have been and always will be a dog lover. I prefer to be around pets of all kinds over humans. “We did a "meet-and greet" a few days before Misty had her first "drop-ins" with our pups. Misty was very attentive while we showed her around the house, explained our routines, and chatted about our furry ladies. We worked together to adjust the "drop in" schedule a bit to work within the needs of our pups and her work schedule. She was very flexible and easy to work with. Throughout our all, it was apparent that she wanted to give our pups the best care possible. We returned to two happy and healthy puppies. Misty did a fabulous job and we are already working to book her for the next time that we are out of town!”

About: Hi, I am a professional doggy daycare attendant with extensive, hands-on training in canine handling and safety. Working daily with large groups of dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments has taught me how to read body language, manage high-energy play, and keep every pet safe and happy. Whether your dog needs a high-energy walk, structured playtime, or attentive overnight care, I treat every pet with the expert care they deserve. I am fully trained in behavioral management and safety protocols, giving you total peace of mind while you are away. I cannot wait to meet your furry family member! I work at a doggy daycare currently and my schedules very, but I’m will to work with anything and can accommodate anyone, so shoot any questions! When caring for your pet in your home or on our walks, my priority is maintaining their exact routine while utilizing my professional daycare training to ensure absolute safety. During House Check-ins: I focus on personalized attention and home security. Every visit includes fresh water, feeding according to your schedule, clean-up, and plenty of one-on-one affection. I am highly trained in reading subtle canine body language, meaning I can easily spot if a pet is feeling anxious or under the weather, allowing me to step in with the right comfort and care. During Walks: Safety on the leash is my absolute rule. I use positive reinforcement to keep walks structured, engaging, and structured around your dog's energy level. My background has trained me to be hyper-aware of our surroundings—watching out for off-leash dogs, traffic, or hazards on the pavement so your dog gets great exercise and comes home completely safe and tired.

About: Growing up in the country I have had about every animal. It has taught me from an early age responsibility, nurturing, & experience in caring for pets. I am a nurse 20 years+ in the ER/trauma field. There are many similarities. I am walking & providing care for dogs because sometimes I love working with dogs a little more than working with people 😉 “Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen“ My schedule is flexible ! If I’m not dog walking I volunteer at shelters and work on my barn getting ready for my next horse. I am insured. This is an awesome hobby in carrying out something I love doing. I took a certification course in pet psychology. Common sense along with knowledge such as obedience & safety basics while giving your dog great exercise is my priority.

About: Hi! My name is Marissa. I’ve been caring for dogs for 11 years—starting with puppies at age 14. I have experience with all ages, including senior dogs needing extra patience, comfort, and medications. I’m reliable, gentle, and treat every dog like family. Whether it’s playful walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays, your pup will be safe, loved, and well-cared for with me! I also have experience in feeding, handling and caring for bearded dragons. I’m a part-time hairstylist with a flexible schedule! I’m available for overnight care after 4 PM Tuesday–Saturday, and fully open on Sundays and Mondays (my weekend). I can also occasionally fit in midday walks, drop-ins, or medication visits between appointments during the week—just reach out to check! Your pet’s care always comes first. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, pet-friendly environment with no other animals in the home—perfect for pets who need one-on-one attention. I understand how much your furry family member means to you, especially after recently losing my own beloved dog. I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and care I gave my own, ensuring they feel safe, secure, and right at home. I also have a pet car seat and stroller holding up to 30lbs to ensure the most comfortably and safety for your fur baby.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 337 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Muncie. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Muncie. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 90% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
