“Tammi is lovely she took great care of Callie during her visits, filled out the report card and left purposefully feedback and photos too! 10/10. I would not hesitate to rebook when needed. Thanks again Tammi for all your care and being you!”

About: My entire life pretty much I've grown up around animals! I've had different rodent, and currently have 2 cats. The last 10ish years my family and I have cat/dog sat for multiple family members and friends. The last year I've cat sat for my neighbor multiple times. As far as regular work goes, I'm only doing part-time due to the limit on how many hours are being given. I'm also not enrolled in school, so my schedule has more than enough time to fit in some extra pet care. I have experience with giving medication (mostly pills), so if your fur baby has meds that are needed to be given, I'm more than willing. Like a lot of animals, I enjoy basking in the sun. So, taking your animals on long walks isn't an issue either. Your animals needs are my priority.
“Abbie is so sweet and did such an awesome job with our puppy girl! We love how active she was with Raven and gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We will be return clients for sure! Thanks Abbie!”

“Camila is great! She came to my apartment to meet them the day before which I think helped a lot. She is gentle and patient and my cats warmed up to her very quickly. I really appreciate the pictures and videos she sent me and I could tell my cats really liked her :)”

About: I have loved and cared for animals for many years. Growing up, my family had a dog, and after college, I adopted a street cat who sadly passed away shortly after my daughter was born. These experiences made me very familiar with daily pet care routines such as feeding, cleaning, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and loved. Now that my daughter is older, our family is excited to welcome animals into our home again. We host only a small number of pets at a time, so each one receives plenty of attention in a calm home environment. I’m happy to follow each pet’s routine closely and provide photo updates so owners can feel relaxed while they’re away. I also like to arrange a meet-and-greet before the first stay to make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. Pet care fits naturally into our weekends. My husband and I are busy working professionals during the week. On weekends, our family enjoys staying home or participating in family-friendly activities, so we can focus on providing attentive care, playtime, feeding, and regular updates for pets staying with us. We strictly limit the number of pets at a time so everyone (including the humans) can relax in a quiet home environment. I’m committed to following each pet’s routine closely and happy to provide photo updates so owners can feel relaxed while they’re away. Most importantly, I like to arrange a meet-and-greet before the first stay to make sure it’s a great fit for everyone.
About: I received my Bachelor's Degree in Animal Studies from Wilson College. I was a Kennel Technician at a boarding facility as well as a doggy daycare for a few years. I am currently a Veterinary Assistant at an Animal Clinic. I enjoy taking care of animals and providing the best care. I work full time during the week, but I am available weekends and can provide pet care during the evenings after work depending on location. Depending on the needs of the animal, I will provide the proper care as per the owners request. I like to know specific details to make everyone feel comfortable.
About: I’ve been pet sitting/farm sitting on a part-time basis for the last five years. This has now become full-time for me, and I really enjoy working with different pets of all shapes and sizes. I have experience with rabbits, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. I also am skilled in bathing, cleaning ears, and clipping nails for dogs and cats. Taking care of your pets is my full-time passion. This gives me all the time and the ability to provide individualized care to all animals in the household. I will take care of your pets in your home according to your preferences, while always respecting your personal space and the well-being of your furry companions.
About: I've always lived in a household with cats and dogs & have taken care of pets of all sizes whether it has been for a neighbor, family, or friends. I followed along with my mom during her pet-sitting career for several years growing up and knew this was meant for me too. I love all animals as if they were my own, and take pride in making sure they are clean, fed, and happy! My career in healthcare requires me to be a detailed person with lots of love and care to share, which definitely flows into my love for animals, too. My career also allows me to have more free time available for spoiling fur babies! For the last 6 years, I have spent much of my free time volunteering with local animal shelters in Maryland and Pennsylvania to bathe, walk, and feed both dogs & cats. I would love to share my love with your fur babies as well and make sure they are well taken care of. I work 3 days a week as a full-time healthcare worker, so I have 4 days in every week available for your loved ones! My odd hours also mean I have very flexible availability. I tend to follow what fur moms & dads request; they are your babies after all! Pets also love routine and repeated habits, so that's what I strive for. I am a very open line of communication so there will be no need to worry about the quality of your pets' care.
About: I have adopted and rehabilitated many companions over the years. If your pet will benefit from extra loving attention I will be happy to provide it. Please provide detailed descriptions of your pets personalities and behaviors so I can provide the best care possible. I have a flexible schedule weekdays and weekends. I am a physically active person and will enjoy engaging your pet in whatever activity they most enjoy. When I provide drop in services I will follow your instructions thoroughly. The more details you provide the better able I am to provide the comfort and care your pets need.
About: I have experience working and volunteering at several animal shelters and animal wildlife rehabilitation centers. Ask me for my references! I have lived with animals my entire life. I can work with pets of ALL ages, sizes, and temperaments! I am patient, empathetic, consistent, and trustworthy. I can't wait to care for your furbabies! I currently have a flexible schedule so I am openly available! I can do any day of the week, any time of day, and any length of time. I am incredibly neat and mindful. I will care for your home and treat it with as much respect as I do your pets! You can trust that your home and loved ones will be in excellent care.

About: I will welcome your pet to its home away from home, showing them the attention and love they require as if they were with you. There isnt anything im not willing to try to ensure your best friend feels as comfortable and continues with their daily schedule the best of my ability- special walking requests (time, amount, distance, frequency), special dietary needs or medication administration, etc. Will allow on furniture and provide any "treats" that you request. But will also ensure that no pets on furniture, no people food, no treats, etc if thats what you desire as well. Either way, you give me the word and ill be more than happy to continue the same care your pet receives at home, no questions asked! If you're looking for a home away from home for your pet, youve found the right person and home! I look forward to hearing from you and mostly meeting the love of your life and continuing the same care they receive at home. I am currently a stay at home homemaker so this allows me to practically be with your pet family member 24 hrs a day which allows us to get to know each other quickly and ensues your furry family member is spoiled with my time. I currently live in a quiet neighborhood which allows me to keep a close eye on your furry family member at all times. Most of the time I get a sidekick with me immediately!! I ensure during potty breaks and walks that I familiarize myself with your pets needs, likes, and dislikes (eg. Other animals).
About: Hello! I have many years of pet experience and am an avid animal lover. I love the outdoors so taking pets to parks and giving them a loving, home away from home is my personal mission. Myself and my family will all make it possible for your pet to have fun and feel safe with us. I have no breed preferences as each animal has its own personality and will do my best to accommodate any animals in need of assistance. I look forward to serving you and meeting your furry family member. Please contact me with any special needs and I will do my best to accommodate them. Best Regards, Keisha I currently telework Monday, Wed, Thursday and Friday. I drive to work on Tuesdays and I love animals. We have a loving family and would love to welcome you to our home. I have a large field for a play area and can crate my animal or yours upon request. My dog does get along with other animals with no issues.
About: I have had 8 years of experience dog sitting, hosting, walking and staying at others homes for dog sitting. I love dogs and as I think cats are cute, I am allergic and unfortunately cannot watch them. I love dogs of all sizes and ages! I love boys or girls! I enjoy going on car rides and checking out new areas for the pups to take a walk. I have had dogs my whole life. I currently have a pittie/lab mix and his name is Bentley. He loves to cuddle, play with other dogs, and is sweet as can be! I currently work full time hybrid. I work from home tuesdays and Friday’s and off on weekends. These are the best days for me to have a dog with me since I’m home. I work a 8-4 job. I care for them by spending time, making sure they are fed, walked, and loved on. I have my dog who enjoys chilling or playing with the dogs depending on what the other dog prefers. Pet care fits with my routine as I am hybrid for work and only live 10 mins away from my job. It is easy for me to run home over lunch to check on the dog I’m watching or if close by take out. I make time to spend with the dog I am watching and that they feel comfortable in my home. While dogs are in my home, I treat them like my own. They are able to sleep with me, be on furniture, etc. I take them for walks to get exercise. With parent permission I make ice cream treats (blueberries & Greek yogurt frozen together) and give them to the dog. I make sure they feel comfortable, are fed and have plenty of water. If a parent would like me to administer meds or give a bath, I am happy to do so!

About: Dogs are my absolute passion. I grew up in New York and later moved to Puerto Rico, where I actually ran my own neighborhood animal rescue from ages 8 to 11. Since moving to North Carolina and South Carolina, I have continued working with non-profits and animal rescues. I have hands-on experience with dogs of every size, from tiny puppies to gentle giants, and I want to make sure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved. I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to put your pet first. I am home throughout the day to provide frequent potty breaks, fresh water, and plenty of attention. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods. I am always available for structured playtime, and I customize my daily routine to match whatever schedule your pup is used to at home. We live in a clean, smoke-free apartment with my sweet, small Shih Tzu who loves making new friends! Because my young brother lives with us, safety is our top priority. My mom and I work as a team to closely supervise all pet interactions at all times. Your pet is welcome on our furniture and bed, and we take regular leashed walks around the neighborhood for plenty of exercise.
About: I have loved animals my entire life. At 8 years old, I got my first kitten and have been caring for animals of all kinds since then. I've even successfully hatched praying mantises! I have handled special needs animals, including cancer patients, and I am a quick learner. Happy to administer meds and do basic grooming as well (brushing, nail trims) if your animal is cooperative. I love cats, dogs, bunnies, and reptiles and am open to sitting for most any creature. As an entrepreneur, I am super flexible, so I can almost always work with your scheduling needs unless I'm traveling for an event. I can even make multiple visits per day or do overnight pet/house sitting. I am an avid cuddler and will be your pet's ultimate companion while you're gone. I am highly empathic and am currently studying feline reflexology. Your animal's comfort and serenity are as much of a top priority to me as their physical needs. I will love your baby as much as you do and will do my absolute best to keep them happy and safe for you. After all, animals are family. 🫶🏼

“Emily was incredible once again! Having someone you can trust caring for your pet especially while out of the country is invaluable. Emily is really in tune with the dogs, every visit being catered to whatever is needed and not just a standard drop in, feed and water and go. I couldn't be more pleased with how much care, love and feedback she gives to my dog. Thank you again Emily!!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for the last 5 years. I love training them and sometimes showing them. My friends often ask me to look after their animals. I enjoy walking with animals and giving them the attention they really need. I also take care of pets that need medication, following the prescription, and ensuring they are fed. I'm working from home these days, so I get to spend a lot of time with animals. They're having a blast and not getting bored at all! I'll keep the dogs on a leash outside, and if you have fans, they'll be there. I'll watch them. The cats will always have a clean space.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
