About: I have been in the veterinary field for over five years. I have been a vet assistant, so I do have experience working with all times of pets. From all stages of life. I do have experience with giving medication and senior pets. I aim to learn the pet's habits to make sure they are happy while you are away. I'm currently working part-time. I'm available for pet sitting on the weekends, and Tuesday and Wednesday during the week. Also on the weekends I can do walking. Since I will be coming to your home, I will make sure to meet and spend time with your pet. To make sure you're pet is comfortable with me. Also, to see the energy of your pet. If your pet is on any medication, ill make sure they are given and know who their veterinarian is just in case of emergency. Then following any feeding instructions.

“Arabella & Dylan were very attentive to Makkachin. :) They tag teamed her care like pros, Arabella tapping in before Dylan left, and in total were with her for 5.5 hours, never leaving once! They were punctual, attentive to directions, which they followed to the letter, and gave her tons of attention and exercise, full of play, walks, and snuggles. They also fed her and kept her safe. She was happy and worn out in the best way. I would definitely use them again!”

“John was great! He took Louie out to parks, walks, even to lunch! I was worried about leaving him alone, but with John, it was easier. I highly recommend him and will use him again. He sent pictures all the time and was highly responsive to all text messages/phone calls.”

“We left for 5 days and. Anna was amazing! She not only took very good care of our fur baby, she dealt with an urgent situation related to our house! She went the extra mile and was very good at communicating and sending pictures!”

“Heather was awesome! My husband and I recently moved here and have a rescue that’s quite nervous of new people. Heather was patient and calm and met her a few times before sitting. She took her sensitivities in stride and gave her space the first few days. My rescue warmed up to her really quick! She did a great job of keeping with communication everyday and sent pictures of each of my animals each day. We will definitely be using her again in the future as all 4 of my girls LOVED her.”

“Lauren was the BEST dog sitter we could ask for. She took care of our two dogs like they were hee own. She cleaned up before she left too! She definitely went above and beyond and anyone would be lucky to have her with their pups.”

“Izza Sofia is AMAZING!!! She took a lot of time to get to know us and everythhing we needed before ever coming, and then gave Makkachin the best day! 2 long walks, lots of playtime both indoors and outdoors, snuggles, companionship, and close supervision (good for a doggo who eats objects!) She was smiling in all her pictures, and definitely had fun, got her exercise, and had her separation anxiety cured. I can tell a difference in her demeanor when she is very engaged with and when she is not, and this was definitely a case of the former! Such a happy girl! 🥹 I also REALLY appreciated Izza Sofia’s constant updates many fantastic photos, and little comments all day long. She is the best and I can’t wait to have her watch Makka again! 10/10 recommend! 🥰”

“I can’t say enough positive things about Ariane! Her communication and photos of my fur baby were excellent! I didn’t worry about a thing, I knew Maisy was in excellent hands! Ariane is an amazing sitter!”

About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. As a pet owner myself, I understand that our pets are family members, not just animals. My personal dogs receive the same love, attention, and care that I would want for any pet entrusted to me. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have more than 15 years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats, including owning and operating a nonprofit animal rescue for five years. Through my rescue work, I cared for hundreds of dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, special-needs pets, and dogs recovering from illness or surgery. I am experienced with administering medications, monitoring health concerns, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention or veterinary care. I know that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will care for them as if they were my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive care and accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Because I spend a significant amount of time at home, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and potty breaks throughout the day. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and will work with you to ensure your pet’s schedule, feeding times, medications, and preferences are followed closely. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter environment, I can provide the level of care and attention they need. Safety is always my top priority. My experience running an animal rescue taught me how to properly introduce dogs, recognize signs of stress, manage different personalities, and provide a safe environment for pets with varying needs. I have a securely fenced yard and closely supervise outdoor time. I can also accommodate medications, special feeding instructions, crate training, and senior pet care.
About: I am comfortable with all kinds of dogs and needs. I personally care for a GSD and a Heeler mix, and am comfortable with rambunctious and large dogs. Both of my dogs practice loose leash walking, and I love using our walks as time to tire their brains as well as their bodies. I can give medications, including subq and other injections. And I’m working on becoming a certified trainer, but for now I do not offer training services. I work a few part time gigs that change with the seasons. I have lots of flexibility to meet the needs of your pets. I generally do not go out of town during major holidays. I have lived on estates as a property manager, and ran my own home repair business for several years. I’m good at handling emergencies, and enjoy fixing things when I have the opportunity

“Huge shout out to Samantha (Sam)!!! She was avaliable on short notice and saved me in an emergency travel situation! She came over to meet my pups, and sat for them while I was out of town while giving me many updates and pictures to make me feel like my pups were well taken care of! I highly recommend Sam for any of your pet sitting needs!!!”

“James was wonderful. When I returned home all was perfect. He cared for my plants..fountains...fish..outdoor cats and of course my 4 inside dogs. I don't even think they missed me. He won them as well as me over and Im hard to please. Highly recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 184 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Monroe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Monroe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Monroe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Monroe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
