“Megan did an excellent job of keeping me informed every morning about Prada. She provided me with specific details that I was concerned about and even went above and beyond to check on things that didn’t directly involve my dog. I received daily pictures, and if she had any questions, she didn’t hesitate to ask. I will definitely be using her services in the future.”

About: I am currently unemployed and staying at my parents home in Elizabeth PA, so I have a pretty wide open schedule, and therefore I am often available to do either short or long term in-house stays for your convenience and your pet's comfort. My parents dog recently passed away at the age of 17. While I was living with them I helped to raise and care for her throughout the years. I gratefully have always had dogs to care for throughout my entire life, from as a young child all the way to just recently with the passing of our family dog of 17 years, and now caring for pets as a sitter. Your pet will have my full attention and their health and happiness will be the priority. I don't live a very busy life and have lots of extra free time now to care for them.

I live near the liberty trail and it s good walk nearby home I am free all summer since I am on break from school. I am very flexible with schedule. Please contact me anytime. About: I’m not just someone who “likes dogs”. I grew up with a Golden Retriever. From puppy energy to senior comfort, I’ve been around it all. I’ve also cared for larger, strong-willed breeds like a Rhodesian Ridgebacks and cane corsos…so I’m comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and personalities. Whether your dog needs structure, patience, or just someone who can match their energy, I adapt to what they need. I treat every dog like they’re my own. I pay attention to routines, behavior changes, and making sure they feel safe, calm, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I have been a caretaker and dog sitter for a few years. Needless to say, taking care of people’s loved-ones comes second nature to me. My night shift schedule at the VA allows me to be available all day to give your pet the attentive care that he/she needs including keeping them company, letting them out for potty breaks, walks, feeds, etc. With house-sitting, I will leave your home the way you left it. I will ensure that your pets are safe, comfortable, and well-fed. I will observe your pets closely. If I notice anything “off” about your pets, you will be notified immediately so that appropriate action is taken if needed.
“Savannah was wonderful with our sweet Lucy girl! She lives very close to us, within 10 minutes, so it was a convenient arrangement for everyone. She kept our puppy entertained and played with in our home and yard while we were away for a 3 day trip. Highly recommend her and look forward to having her sit for us again!”

“We had the absolute best experience with Kaylee as our dog and cat sitter! She took such amazing care of our pets and made being away from home completely stress-free. She sent us tons of pictures and regular updates, which we absolutely loved and really appreciated. It was clear from every update that our pets were happy, comfortable, and getting lots of love and attention. On top of being wonderful with our pets, Kaylee was incredibly respectful of our home. We came back to the house cleaner and neater than we left it, which was such a pleasant surprise! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would 100% book Kaylee again in a heartbeat! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, communicative, and responsible to watch their pets and home”

“Jarett was wonderful. Freya was unfamiliar with him at first but they are now friends. We will happily have him stay with her again. He kept us informed of her well-being, which is always a big relief when you’re away from home.”

“Brittani was awesome! Could tell right from the start that she was going to take great care of Bentley but also calm and trustworthy in our home. She sent us pictures of him without request so we knew he was good and taken care of. Will definitely use Brittani again multiple times”

About: I ran a small independent animal rescue for many years and have trained and had dogs and cats my entire adult life. My expertise is big bully breed dogs and senior animal care but I’ve cared for many types of dog and cats. I no longer have pets of my own, I’d sure love to spend some time with yours. I am self-employed and work remotely, I can bring my job with me wherever I go. I have no set schedule so I can easily adapt the needs of your pets. I have extensive experience with senior and aging dogs/cats. I am very good at keeping a calm commanding presence. Proficient in crate training, potty clean-ups, feeding and preparing meals, and basic hygiene and grooming. I adore animals and caring for them.
About: I’m a dog whisperer. They understand us more than we think, they are created to be in subjection to us. Hh hh hh hh hh The flexibility works well with my lifestyle. I am a busy mom but so excited to do fun flexible work. Hh hh hh hh hh I try to respect the animal and its routine. I know that makes life easier for mom and dad, but also it’s less stress. Hh
“Excelente house sitter and great with dogs. He is home often and makes sure they get plenty of exercise. And on top of that he takes great care of the house too!”

“Rachel is very friendly and was willing to work with my uncertain travel schedule. Her willingness to be flexible greatly helped me and was willing to do whatever necessary to help ease my concerns. My dog had a great time during her stay and my home was just the way I left it. Would book again.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since a little girl. I’ve trained 2 medical service dogs so far! I’m currently learning more about specialty training. I have puppy training experience, crate training, leash training, senior care, and medication management. I’m a graphic designer and I work from home. I rarely leave the house! That means I have all the time for your fur baby! I have a large fenced back yard, and a garage that is set up as a dog hang out spot with access to water & shade from the sun! I have one very friendly 11 month old German shepherd mix who loves to play & is crate trained. I have the backyard & garage on camera, but I keep an eye on my dog regardless. Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost of House Sitting in Monessen is $57 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $39 and $59 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.
As of November 2026, there are 1,369 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Monessen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Monessen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Monessen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Monessen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
