Like so many, dogs have played an important role in my life. Although I was born in Los Angeles, I also lived in other western states before calling Texas home. No matter where I lived, I have always had dogs – from strays to purebreds. I could never say no to an animal in need of a good home. I had always dreamed of working with animals. During a trip abroad, I had an opportunity to volunteer at an animal shelter in Split, Croatia. This experience solidified my desire to devote my time to helping dogs and people better understand each other for the benefit of both. Seeing the wonderful dogs and hearing so many sad stories about dogs being misunderstood and abandoned made me want to make a difference. Working with dogs is not only my passion and love but also medicine for my soul. It is incredibly rewarding when the dog I am training learns a new skill. I have had many professions throughout the years but none have been as rewarding as being a dog trainer. I am passionate about helping dogs reach their full potential to have a mutually beneficial relationship with their human companions. I have many years experience working with aggressive and fear reactive dogs, from e-collar training to luring to free shaping. I have also trained full service animals and currently have a German Shepherd service animal that also works along side me to socialize and train other dogs to be okay with other dogs.
