I was born and raised with fur babies and I truly love and adore them. I always start by introducing myself to the dog and owner. This helps me learn more about the dog’s personality and any special needs they might have. It also gives me an opportunity to explain how I plan to care for their dog while they’re away. I reassure them that I will do everything I can to ensure their dog is happy and safe. I believe some of the most important skills for a dog walker are reliability, organization and communication. I am always on time which helps owners feel more comfortable leaving their dogs with me. I also communicate clearly with clients. This helps them feel more confident in my abilities as well. My approach is always to remain calm and confident when approaching the dog. This helps them feel safe and allows me to get closer so I can begin to interact with them. I also use treats and toys to encourage the dog to play with me. 😁
