Pet care experience
Thank you for clicking on my profile! I am a physical therapy student at UM, and alongside my passion for helping people I also love to help their pets. It all started as an Alaskan kid playing with family pets - two cats, two dogs - and caring for sled dogs in a tourism mushing kennel - feeding and watering, scooping poop, and performing basic health checks. In middle school, my sister and I cared for our own yearling team and worked up to 4-mile runs! In college, my passion for animal care blossomed as a veterinary technician and boarding kennel hand. I also have trained my own herding-breed Zip to be a certifiably fantastic trail companion, and am working on trail skills with my partner's two yearling dogs, Iris and Meeko. Because of my clinic experience, I am comfortable cleaning up messes and administering any medication your pet may need according to your own directions. Young and hyper dog who needs a pill? Geriatric grumpy cat who needs a shot? I'm your person! And, particularly in my work as a boarding kennel tech with anxious cats and dogs, I aim to be as stress-free and patient for the animal as possible. For dogs who need more exercise than a walk, I will take them on a jog from your home for up to 30min. Please send me a request if this is the case!
Reviews
Zoe is the best pet sitter and dog walker! My dogs and cat adore her! It's so reassuring to know my pets are being treated with affection, kindness, and care when I am away. One of my dogs has epilepsy and Zoe has been very dependable in remembering medication. Zoe worked as an assistant at a veterinary clinic, so has received training in animal care. I can tell by how my dogs and cat react to seeing Zoe that they really enjoy their time with her! She is a good dog trainer too!
About Zoe R.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
As an amateur trail dog trainer, safety is my #1 priority. Because of this, I will keep your dog on-leash when outside and walk/run along routes I know are dog friendly. For at-home visits, I will respectfully stick to areas of the home only essential to pet care.
Information Zoe R. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your animal has any specific routines, needs, or commands to use during home visits, walks, and runs. Please also provide preferred emergency veterinary clinic in case of emergencies. Thanks!
A typical day
I love to provide mental stimulation with physical activity! For example, during a walk, at the end of every block can they do a trick before we cross the road, or during potty breaks we can see how many times they can fetch a ball before we go inside. For dogs who need more physical activity than a walk, I can take them on jogs up to 30min.
