I have a 70lbs Weimaraner and I train him and spend most of my time with him. I have taken care many of his dog friends when their paw parents are not available to stay with their pets. To walk, feed, teach basic tricks, and play with my dog and my friends’ pets are what I am doing for a long time, also I am who they can trust at the first place.

Hi I’m Nova, a playful and energetic three-month-old German Shepherd girl. I remember the first time Zhiqian came to see me, she greeted me so gently and brought me some delicious treats. I got too excited and accidentally tore her little snack bag. But she didn’t get angry or blame me. Contrary to what you might expect, when she saw my guilty face, she comforted me. I get so excited every time she comes, cuz I’m always well-fed and have so much fun playing with her. She’s also professional – she taught me the ‘BiuBiu’ trick in just two visits! I love being with her because she truly understands me. It’s like she’s always been a part of our life, knowing all my habits and schedule. One time, I didn’t want her to leave, so I kept holding back from doing my business. Amazingly, she patiently stayed with me, waiting until I was ready to go. On her last visit, she gave me a Christmas gift and card – a squeaky elephant toy. I love it so much!! I really hope Zhiqian will take care of me again!!!!
Zhiqian was my neighbor and we got to know each other by walking our dogs. I have a 70lbs golden retriever. And she boarding my dog and took care of my cat a couple of times. She took my dog to the park to fetch and always assured my dog was safe; she is the one we are very confident that we can entrust our furry children to when both of us were in San Diego. She actually put a lot of effort into the dogs. As a friend, she is someone who has a sense of humor, is outgoing and is easy to get along with. As a paw parent, she is trying her best to be a very responsible person, continually studying how to keep the pet healthy, safe and happy, and also attaches great importance to dog training. I know how much she loves animals with a soft warm heart, so we become best friends to each other. I am glad that we are friends now, if she ever comes back to California, I would always welcome her and sweet Enzo to stay at my home:)
Zhiqian is my girlfriend; we lived together for about four years. During Covid-19, we decided to adopt a dog, and it is our first dog in both of us’ lives. In the beginning, I was frustretted because the puppy got up every two hours at night, and got up very early in the morning. But Zhiqian always got up immediately to take care of everything for Enzo, and then cuddled him to sleep on the couch again. She has endless patience and good temper with dogs; sometimes I get jealous with my dog:D Now she is applying for Rover, and I know that is something she always wants to do in her life, to meet more dogs and to stay with them. I would say Zhiqian is a very warmhearted, empathetic person, so she is always gentle to animals. At home, she continually looks for ways to study how to train dogs; she reads dog books and watches dog trainers’ videos on websites. She is the one who always finds out what kinds of toys are good, for our dog can mentally release his energy. The one who always finds out what's wrong with our dog's physical health, and the one practicing the command with our dog over and over again don’t get annoyed. After Zhiqian graduated, a big part of her life was taking care of the dog, and she did a good job. I believe she could do excellent on Rover, and I a hundred percent support her to do it.
I knew Zhiqian after she moved to New York City and we had a dogs meet up in a dog park. Personally, I am someone who I pays attention to the details of my dog, and I found that she is the same. We all know how difficult to raise a big dog in the big city. but she and her boyfriend are the kind of people-person willing to drive for two hours just for taking their dog to the big football field and playfetching three, four times a week, and every week since they move to New York. So soon I felt comfortable sending my dog to their home for a long weekend, and it turns out that they are just the kind of dog parents I can trust. Zhiqian and her boyfriend never treated other people's dogs differently than their own dog; they took the two dogs together four times a day out, either for a walk, a pooty break or fetching. Next time, if my dog needs to be boarding, I will definitely send him to Zhiqian.

A typical day
I love to play with dogs and to simulate dogs physically and mentally. I take my dog to a large grass area with fence to play fetching all seasons, and in summer I take my dog to beaches or pond for swimming. If the weather condition is bad, I have numerous enrichment toys at home and could let my dog and his furiends to play with. Also, I’d love to take my dog to a long walk around the city to let him to get socially with others and to do some desensitization training.

Availability
I’m currently working as freelance interpreter which is a very flexible part time job, so I have plenty of time at home to take care of my dog or other’s pets for daily walking or a long time playtime. And I will always pay attention of pets I’m taking care of.
