Hello! My name is Zel and I've worked in the pet care field for over 13 years. While always having had pets of my own growing up, I started out professionally working in 2013 as a dog-walker/pet-sitter with MonumenTails in Charlestown, MA. This job afforded me such great experiences meeting all types of breeds of dogs/cats, work through challenges of walking packs, and navigating life that is living in Boston! I've lost count of the different pet-sitting jobs I've had over the years, but every experience taught me more about meeting each clients specific needs, going above and beyond to provide the least stressful experience for the owner and most importantly, the pet! [please read below about my current schedule] If you're curious about my other animal care experience, I'm happy to share! * Veterinarian Technician Assistant at Wheeling Veterinary Associates, Wheeling, WV - Great experience working with the common medications our pets receive, and how to properly administer them, including insulin, pills, intravenous fluids * Animal Husbandry and Wildlife Conservation Apprentice at Good Zoo, Oglebay, WV - Experience with all types of exotic animals, birds, reptiles, and salamanders * Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehab Intern, New England Aquarium, Boston, MA - Great learning experience with aquatic animals, water quality, and education *Odds and Ends - I've worked with horses, chickens, rabbits, small rodents ***** Current Schedule******* While my job as a manager at MonumenTails is flexible and much can be done remotely, I life to go into Charlestown a few hours a week. My side job as a Photographer is only an occasional thing, requiring only up to 3 hrs away maximum per shoot. Fridays and Saturdays are not flexible! I work part-time at Mass Audubon's Drumlin Farm in Lincoln, MA as a Wildlife Care Technician. Fridays 8:30am-5:00pm, Saturdays 7:30am-4:00pm. In the past this has worked out with clients as they had either a friend/family member/neighbor/dogwalker come to do an afternoon walk for the dogs. Understandably, this doesn't work out for everyone that reaches out to me, so please consider it. On a rare occasion I am able to come to work 1/2 hr earlier so I can take an hour lunch to run back to do a potty break, location permitting. I try to avoid this though at all possible. I've been pet-sitting for a long time and it never gets old! I take such joy and pride and providing a low anxiety option to have your furry loved ones taken care of while you try to focus on your trip away. It's hard to leave them, I know, but with me they are in great hands! I send notes and photos (sometimes too many photos!) and consider integrity, reliability, communication, and a clean home for you to return to an essential aspect of the experience.
