Pet care experience
From a young age, I helped raise, train and care for showed dogs and rescue dogs alike. From basic puppy training to senior care, I have experience with it. Baths, nail trimming, basic grooming are all things I am comfortable with and have experience with. For the last ten years, I have, personally, cared for cats. Nail trim needs, grooming, my own cats get all their general care at home. I have experience with more advanced pet needs, such as shots, pills and other medical care that an animal might need on the daily.

Zackariah is so in love with animals. Rabbits can be notoriously difficult to take care of! But they were amazing when they watched my rabbits. They really care for animals as if they were their own. I trust them implicitly with my pets. Definitely book with them!

I am currently not offering pet care in my own home, but am available for care in others homes. After rescuing dogs and cats growing up and as an adult, I understand that each animal has different needs. Honestly, I take a hands off approach at first - if an animal is skittish or fearful, I let them warm up to me, by existing with them in their own space. Treats and toys are good ways to interact with a pet from a distance, while respecting their boundaries. If an animal is happy to engage, I engage! But until that point, I allow them their space and safety, while fulfilling all of their basic needs.

It's important to be able to do a quick meet and greet, if there's time! Not all dogs vibe with all sitters and I want to make sure it's the right choice. Same with cats, too!
A typical day
I'm a big fan of the Chuck-it toy for higher energy dogs that mist love to chase things. Dog parks are great, and man, so I do I have a good frisbee throwing. Getting fresh air is important for both me and the pet I'm watching. (Unless it's a cat, and we just condone open, screened in windows, which are kitty safe.) Sometimes, pets just want to laze about, so a good book and a snuggly pet is great. Or if they're not big on cuddles, just vibing together is great.

I'm currently unemployed, so I have a very open schedule for working with animals. Overnight care is available for dogs and cats, alike. Drop-ins and daily walks are also things I'm open to do.
