Pet care experience
I have been around dogs all of my life, particularly large breed dogs. My parents bred Newfoundland dogs, so I grew up helping to raise the parents and puppies. I currently have a Labrador Retriever and a Great Pyrenees, along with a few dog-friendly cats. I have a 6 foot high fenced in back yard for dogs to run around in with lots of fun toys to play with. I believe that dogs need more than just a yard to romp around in, so at least two walks around my quiet neighborhood per day for boarding are provided. If you’re like me, I like to know what my pup is up to, so I do send pictures and photos daily. I am available for drop in services only on Saturdays and Sundays currently. I work in the mornings, but my wife works mostly from home so your pup would have almost continuous companionship.

I have a fenced in yard and two friendly dogs to keep your pup company. When sitting, we do not enter our house through the front door to eliminate the possibility of a dog escaping. If you’d like your dog crated when we need to run errands, we have a spare crate or you can bring your own. The crates are kept in our bedroom and we have a motion camera to check on them while we are out. We never leave our dogs unattended in our yard and when it is hot or bad weather, we only go outside on an as needed basis. Finally, we care about your dog’s schedule and preferences and accommodate them as best as we can. If your dog doesn’t like the vacuum, we’ll run it while your dog is on a walk. If your dog has a certain sleep schedule or routine, we’ll work with it.

Because I do have dogs of my own, I prefer dogs who are socialized and not aggressive to other dogs. I do also have cats, however I do gate off part of my house so they have their own special space. This successfully allows for my cats to co-exist with dogs who may want to chase small animals. I do require a meet and greet prior to accepting the first boarding request. Most meet and greets at my house will be held in my backyard (especially if your dog has never been around cats and has a tendency to chase) and also to provide a more neutral environment. However, I am happy to allow you to come inside to check out the house while your dog waits in the backyard - please let me know if you’d like do that.
A typical day
We’ll play in my backyard but spend most of the day inside. We'll go on walks around the neighborhood, either individually or with my dogs. If you are a member of the Kannapolis Dog World Dog Park and I am added to your profile, I’d be happy to transport your pup to the dog park in my spacious SUV. I can also transport to vet or grooming appointments as needed.

Availability
My dogs are my world and yours will be too. I work in the mornings but I dedicate plenty of time before work to make sure the dogs are fed, walked, and any other needs are taken care of. When I am at work, my wife takes care of providing their needs until I am home again. I have never seen dogs as pets - they are children and deserve to be spoiled with love.
