Pet care experience
Hi, My partner Derek and I have many years of experience caring for dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes. Sid the Kid is our blind 10 lb Havanese. We have known, loved, and cared for her going on almost 18 years. She is remarkably healthy, very mellow, friendly with all dogs and loves to go for rides in her Radio Flyer wagon. This year we lost Camus and Chloe within six months of each other. They were both 17 when they passed. Through caring for them— we learned how to give injections, medications and tend to their special dietary needs.
Reviews
Yvette and Derek took great care of our dog Jax while we were out of town for the weekend. We got daily updates and know he had the best time with them! They even washed his bed for me when he got it muddy from the rain. A great stay!!
Great w my Doberman!! She had a blast finding all the best cuddle spots in the house. We’ll be back, thanks again!
Yvette and Derek were great! I love bringing Reese to their place for daycare or boarding because they are so thoughtful, caring, and attentive to his needs. I loved getting thorough updates of how he was doing including pictures and videos. I could tell Reese enjoyed his time and was cared for well. I highly recommend Yvette and Derek! :)
Yvette was a life saver for us! We were stuck in Boulder way longer than expected and worried about the dogs. Yvette responded last minute and popped over to let them out and run around - sending reassuring pictures that they were doing great despite our being out all day. Truly such a relief to have had her come by for them. She’s always so responsive and communicative. I would always recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
Our backyard has a 5' fence with a locking gate, a flagstone patio and a vine covered pergola for dogs who like to spend time lounging outside. A baby gate between the living room and entryway prevents pups from slipping out unleashed. We also have a baby gate between the dining room and kitchen. This allows us to feed pups separately to avoid possible conflict. We are responsible, organized, detail-oriented. We have good communication skills. It is important to us that you and your pup have a great experience during your dog's stay with us. We love meet & greets as they allow us to understand your pet's needs and know we will be a great fit together. Because our dog is a blind senior citizen, we are unfortunately unable to take dogs that are aggressive. We love her and the dogs that stay with us and our aim is to provide a safe environment for all dogs in our care. We want everyone to get along, feel at ease and have a great time with us while they are away from you. Please let us know if your pet prefers a low-key environment. We are happy to limit the number of bookings, provided we don't already have someone else on the calendar at the time of your booking. We value honesty and transparency, and will always let you know who will be staying with us during your dog's stay.

Information Yvette & Derek L. would like to know about your pet
Is your pup gentle with smaller, senior dogs? Does your pet have any medical conditions? What is your pet’s regular routine and schedule for walks, play, and feeding? Does your pet have any triggers (other dogs, joggers, children, cats, skateboarders etc) and how do you handle those encounters? Do they exhibit any reactive behavior toward other dogs while on leash? Are there any house rules we should follow during your dog's stay with us? Does your pup have separation anxiety? If so, how does it manifest and what helps to calm them? What training commands do you use? Is your pup afraid of fireworks or thunderstorms? Do they have any allergies? Do they like to ride in the car? Do they get carsick? Is there anything else you would like us to know about your pup? We want their stay away from home to be as comfortable and fun as possible. We look forward to hearing from you. Yvette & Derek
A typical day
Derek and I go for long daily walks and like to hike. If your pet loves to exercise, we'd love their company. We'll check out all the new smells in the neighborhood and explore the big park near our house. We hope to hear from you soon.

Availability
Derek and I both work from home. I have a part-time work schedule which allows for plenty of time to play with your pup(s)! If you have a pet who needs frequent outdoor breaks, we can easily accommodate their schedule. And, I can keep an eye on pets who need/want a bit more attention and affection. If your pup has separation anxiety, we're happy to adjust our schedules if they need a constant companion during their stay. We are available for boarding and doggy daycare seven days a week. We also welcome and love pets that need to stay with us for an extended period of time. We recently watched a Goldendoodle named Vivi for almost six weeks and she is like family to us now.
