Pet care experience
My entire life, I have helped care for numerous family dogs and countless animals (of all walks of life). I loved all the acts of animal care, especially the training. I have trained two Australian shepherds in agility, my scotch collie in rally/herding/scent work, and am currently training my newest scotch collie in therapy work! I have had a lifelong passion for animal husbandry and my unique experiences (working in 2 zoos and 3 different wildlife rehab centers) allow me to be a knowledgeable and resourceful sitter. From my work with exotic animals, in and out of a veterinary setting, I am also very keen to changes in behavior and adjust my approach to handling each individual animal accordingly. Above all, I am an extremely enthusiastic dog mom! I like to take pups on outdoor excursions and adventures. My dog even goes canoeing with me! I also enjoy challenging dogs mentally by teaching them tricks and games that keep their mind exercised. I am a very patient pup teacher, so whatever their quirks, I am willing to work diligently to help dogs overcome issues, fears, or uncertainties. My goal is to provide your dog with a loving and encouraging experience, so they have a pawsitive story to share with you after a long day or time away.

Yorke was phenomenal for day care for my pup! She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day which made me feel really comfortable with her especially since it was his first time staying there. She was very communicative and reasonable for drop off and pick up times. I highly recommend Yorke for your pup’s needs!

At my house I have a fully fenced yard, and like to rotate time outside and time inside. I have two extra large dog crates I use for juggling dogs safely and can use for crate-trained dogs if they need time to eat/nap separate of other dogs. I also have a doggie door, so for dogs familiar with that, they can have free access to go in and out. At your house, I am always careful to double check doors and locks when I come in and out. I always check water bowls and make sure your pet has everything they need. When out for walks, I am happy to use a client provided leash or I can use my English slip leads which have added safety features to prevent escape, and I always double hold the leash across my body for safety. I have learned to do this through experience with reactive, young, and large dogs (and from leading horses including my own stallions). If I notice anything off or unusual about your pet's behavior I am always prompt to let my client know.

Please let me know if your dog has any special behavioral or medical needs. I expect all pets staying with me to be up to date on vaccines, free of parasites, and in good health. I have three dogs of my own to keep healthy!
A typical day
A typical day with me involves hours of pack play time in the house and in the yard. We have a LOT of toys to choose from. We'll go for a walk or maybe a hike depending on my schedule. I sometimes take well-behaved and social dogs to my barn where they can meet 6-8 other social dogs and experience a slice of farm life. I also love to schedule day adventures when I know I have a dog staying with me to do things like hike, kayak, paddleboard, bike, or the like together. Sometimes I'll even do paw arts and crafts!

Availability
I am currently doing part-time work, mostly from home. I have a flexible schedule, so if I know I have a pup expecting me that day I can spend plenty of time with them. Weekdays I am the most available to be home during the workday, and weekends I can take pups with me on adventures. I am also able to take well-behaved and social dogs to my barn where they can play with 6-8 other dogs and experience a little slice of farm life.
