Loving Sitter & Golden Pal

Pet care experience

My name is Yiting. I am a graduate student from Georgia Tech and now a housewife and dog mum of a 5-year-old Golden Retriever. I used to volunteer at the Atlanta Humane Society during school and enjoyed every minute serving at the shelter. I had my own dog in 2019 and she is by far the sweetest golden retriever I have ever seen. My dog has allergy problem since birth, so we are very cautious about food and cleaning at home. Through raising our own dog I learned a lot of pet caring skills from the vet. My dog did a TPLO surgery in May 2023 and is fully recovered now under attentive care for several months. Our home is pet-proofed, cozy, and filled with love. I enjoy recording our daily life and here is my dog's Instagram account @luna_theenglishgolden if you'd like to check it out. You can find video clips of all dogs boarding at our home in the past since I started Rover service in Nov 2023. Your dog will become a part of our extended family during their stay, and you will receive regular updates with 10+ photos and videos every day. Please take a minute to read all the information I provided below to see if our home fits your need. Especially "A typical day" and "Information I would like to know about your pet" Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!

I cannot recommend Yiting highly enough as a dog sitter! She took exceptional care of our golden retriever, Milky, and truly stands out as one of the best sitters we have ever used. Before we left, she got all the details about Milky’s daily routine and needs to make sure everything was just right. During our vacation, Yiting regularly sent us tons of adorable photos and videos. It was so comforting to see Milky happy and well-cared for, which really let us relax and enjoy our vacation. Plus, Yiting’s own dog, Luna, was a total sweetheart and the perfect play buddy for Milky. They had such a great time together! The real standout moment for me was when Milky swallowed a toy by accident. Yiting caught it on video, acted super fast to help him get it out, and kept a close watch on him after to make sure he was okay. It was so impressive! I’m super thankful for how much love and attention Yiting gave to Milky. She’s a true pro and just great at what she does. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch sitter!

Safety, trust & environment

In my own home, where I provide in-home pet care, I create a safe and comfortable environment for the dog I look after. I start by ensuring that my space is pet-friendly, removing any potential hazards, and providing designated areas for eating, drinking, and resting. I maintain a daily routine that includes feeding pets at specific times and taking them for regular walks and playtime. There is a fenced dog park in our neighborhood that I bring the dogs to everyday. I provide plenty of love, attention, and cuddles to make them feel at home. I follow any special dietary requirements or medications as per the owner's instructions and ensure that fresh water is always available. Regular grooming and hygiene care, including brushing are part of my routine.

Information Yiting X. would like to know about your pet

I take one dog at a time. I have a petite female Golden Retriever (50lb) that has a very good temper and is friendly with all human and dogs. She is playful outside and calm at home. She can also serve as a good companion for other dogs if they wanna play. There is only one thing she has zero tolerance with. When another dog tries to hump her, she will fight back immediately and not let that happen. So if your dog is very dominant and likes humping other dogs, they wouldn't be comfortable staying with each other. She plays better with female dogs of similar size. Meet and greet is a must before daycare or boarding. We strongly recommend trying daycare before boarding to make sure your beloved pet has a wonderful time with us. I would like to know what your dog's daily routine is like, walking and feeding schedule, any special attention needed. The more details the better. We don’t take dogs that are not potty trained and damage property. We don’t take dogs that are too vocal and love barking so as not to disturb our neighbors. We don’t take dogs with separation anxiety if they whine excessively because their owner is away while I am staying at home with them. We sleep on separate floor and we only take dogs that can sleep by himself/herself during night.

A typical day

We start the day by feeding breakfast at time that owner suggests (normally at 8-9am). Half an hour after breakfast I start walking dogs in our beautiful neighborhood with huge amount of grass field to sniff around. I also bring them to play in the fenced dog park along the way. I walk my dog and your dog together or separately depending on their need and comfort. We stay outside until they finish pooping and want to go home. Some dogs like walking more and some don't like walking too much. Time varies depending on their needs. Back at home I provide lots of cuddles and attention throughout the day if the dog loves to stay with human. My dog will leave us alone and plays toys herself. There will be plenty of dog toys on the floor for them to play with. Meanwhile my dog serves as a companion for dogs that like to play. We have hosted several younger dogs that play with her all day long. The dogs can also jump onto the sofa and look outside the window or from the balcony. We are located in the center of the neighborhood and it's very quiet throughout the day. The dogs can either rest or play. I can also take them out in the afternoon if your dog needs more frequent potty break. In the evening we feed dinner at time that owner suggests (normally at 6-7pm). Half an hour after dinner I start walking dogs and the routine is the same as our morning routine: walk, play and poop outside, then go back home resting or playing more. Before sleep, I will wipe and brush their hair and/or brush their teeth with some treats provided. We live in a 3-floor townhouse with no fenced yard and I stay at home all day with the dogs indoor. For dogs that are more independent and require lots of space running around it wouldn’t be a good fit. For dogs that are more dependent and used to stay indoor most of the time, especially if they love to play with golden retriever or cuddle with human, it will be a perfect fit. During daytime I stay with them on the 2nd floor. During night time we slept on the 3rd floor. Luna and the other dog will sleep on the dog bed or sofa on the 2nd floor.
