In this for the snuggles.

Pet care experience

I've had personal and professional experience caring for pets for 15+ years, working with pets of varying ages and needs. I'm primarily experienced (and most enjoy working with) pups and kitties. Why pick me? I'm the obvious choice if you want your pets to learn a Russian word or two... Okay, full disclosure, turning your pets a little Slavic doesn’t come with a money-back guarantee, but what I CAN promise is... ...that I am here to provide you with the peace of mind, knowing your furry creatures are receiving the upmost attentive, warm, and loving care while you sip Piscos at the base of Machu Picchu or practice Yoga in Ubud. I'm here for you even if your most exotic vacation is getting together with all sides of the family for Thanksgiving (yes, even--and maybe especially--that side of the family who you, er, don't exactly see eye to eye with). Travel and separation from your furry pals can be a stressful time for you and them both. To make that easier, I connect with your little fuzzies and give them snuggles (I'm in it for the snuggles after all) while sending you regular photo updates. My aim is to provide you with a consistent sense that your pets are safe and loved while you’re away. Upon your return, you'll find your space more beautiful than you left it (that might involve flowers and pillow mints, at which point you'll have to do a double take and make sure you haven't accidentally stumbled into a stranger's house). But, most importantly, you'll find your furry ones in good spirits! A few things to note: -I do update my offerings from time-to-time, so, please check back frequently. I also invite you to reach out with any questions you may have. -If you have a custom request, please reach out. It may be possible for me to accommodate your needs and create a custom listing for you. But do note that I will not go "off platform." -I am open to caring for animals that are not cats or dogs, but there will be an additional charge for each animal, so, please let me know if this is your situation before booking. -Emergencies do happen. It has only happened once in all of my years of pet care. It's rare, but, this is a reality we have to acknowledge. Know that I will ALWAYS do my very best to take care of your pets, but, if they need to be taken to the vet, I will err on the side of doing what I think will be life-saving.

Yana was absolutely fabulous!! Her daily updates--and many photos of Max--helped reassure us that he was thriving while we were gone. She quickly mastered the art of administering insulin injections, and made sure to work outside time for Max around her work schedule. I would book her again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Yana!

Yana is a wonderful, loving, responsible and very patient pet caregiver. I really appreciate her willingness to be flexible and accommodate our needs whenever possible. My dog and I are very fond of her, and would highly recommend her for any pet care needs. She is an absolute joy to work with.

Yana took fantastic care of our senior cat Bruce for eight days. Bruce is...how share we say...'set in his ways' and I was concerned he'd be stressed out and unhappy. Yana sent photos and videos daily that gave us the sense of security we needed to enjoy our trip back East. Yana is caring. She put Bruce first. More than that, she took good care of our home. I can't sing Yana's praises enough.

Yana took care of my two cats for about a week and she was great. Very sweet, responsible and responsive, and the cats loved her. I would definitely recommend her as a wonderful pet sitter!

I’m gentle and attentive. And I put care into forming a relationship with your animals over time. And I definitely always look both ways before crossing the street, which is a top value of mine that I make sure I instill in all pets. Okay, seriously, though, for Dog Walking: Sometimes it takes a while for a pup to get comfortable walking in the world with a stranger. It's way more important for me to make sure that your pups feel safe and secure than it is to meet an arbitrary mile marker. Of course, it would be ideal for both to happen and that is my ultimate goal. But--in the meantime, if there is a meantime--I will always gently and securely hold the leash but will never, ever pull your dog. I will let them take the lead where it feels appropriate, and I'll take them home early to play outside instead if that's what needs to happen as we get acquainted. Really, what you get with me is someone who will stay aware of what your pup needs and meet them where they are so that they feel comfortable venturing further out with me, if that's what they need. Oh, and there are always lots of, "good doggo!" on offer. For Drop-in visits: Things I can provide include all the basics, from cleaning litter boxes (and the spaces around them) to regular feeding and walking, lots of pets and snuggles, and indoor and outdoor play, and more. Would you like me to read a book to your cat or play a Beethoven CD for your puppy? Let's discuss during the booking process! For House-sitting: In addition to all of the above, I will also treat your home as my own, cleaning and caring for it, grabbing and stacking your mail, watching out for packages, taking bins in and out as needed, and so forth, depending on what your needs are. Beauty is really important to me, so, I aim to maintain and create more of it in your space!

Information Yana G. would like to know about your pet

There are the basics I'd need, like diet, schedule, walks, and any needs around play, sleep, touch, treats, levels of sociability with other people/children/animals etc. Understanding how your pets cope with transitions and separation is also important for me to be the best carer for them. I'd also want to know about any personality quirks to be attentive to and if/how to support those. I also cannot stress enough how (really, really, really, REALLY) important it is that I know any and all special needs your pet has (whether chronic health challenges, moderate-to-severe separation anxiety, a food allergy, a recent injury or issue...anything at all, really). This is critical to ensure that I’m a good fit to be able to keep them healthy and safe for the duration of your travels. I don't want to be redundant, but it is SO IMPORTANT you let me know if your pet has recently had a health issue of any kind, so I’m able to stay aware of any new needs or potential changes in their health as a result. To complete booking I (and maybe Rover now, too) require all medical/care provider details for your pet as well as an on-file credit card be provided through Rover in case of emergencies. We will also come up with an action plan in the (unlikely) event of an emergency before you go on vacation, but having all the necessary logistical info is a must to move forward.

A typical day

I am still getting to know the area and am open to recommendations and suggestions. I provide walks in nature, playing in the house and backyard, exploring the neighborhood, lounging, snuggles, meals on a regular schedule, and snuggles, which is definitely my end goal. If you let me know what your dog most needs and enjoys, I will do my darndest to provide them with those things. Or, if your dog is a cat, let me know how I can give your furry the space and worship they require as they plot humanity's demise.

I work about 30 hours per week currently and am not available on Mondays (except for housesitting). I typically work 5 hours per day except Sundays when I work all day (with a midday break between 5 hour shifts). I do have some flexibility in my schedule, especially with advanced notice, though I believe my work schedule can accommodate and fit well with most pet care needs. Even though I would do nothing but snuggle all day with cute animals all day if I could, I recently discovered that I'm not limitless (sadly), so, I have a maximum number of slots available at any given time. This is actually a good thing, because it also means that I’m able to consistently devote my full attention to the pets and/or houses I’m caring for. Not to worry, though! Whatever concerns you have, bring 'em. We will discuss your needs in detail while going through the booking process!
