Xiaoyu was kind but requested a 9pm drop off and didn’t want to meet up earlier for a vibe check. I was concerned that once I arrived I wasn’t allowed to see how and where they would be kept/sleeping but I had an emergency and had to leave town quickly because a family member was in the hospital. I didn’t receive any communication the last two of the 4 days and there was no feedback when I picked them up. I have no idea how things went.

Hardly any communication, and found out she had locked my cat in a room by himself so I ended the stay early. Went to pick him up and neither myself nor Rover was able to get ahold of this sitter and when she finally responded, she told me to wait for her and she pulled up in her car minutes later. As I wait at her front door waiting for her to bring Smokey down, I heard him yell. Then I heard thumping and moments later she appeared at the door and told me I had to go up to get him which I found odd and seen his litter box off to the side. The home was hot upon entering, I walked upstairs and as soon as I entered the room I could hardly breathe, there was literally no air circulation in the room she had him locked in. He was hiding in a defensive aggressive stance, scared and hissing. I turned to see what he was looking at and it was the sitter, and she stared back at him with pure hate. I e NEVER seen him behave like that towards anyone, he didn't even want me to go near him while she was in the room. It wasn't until she left and closed the door to the room she entered that I was able to slowly get him to start coming out but he was still scared and defensive. I couldn't believe she had him locked in a room with no air circulation and to make things worse, his food and water were in another room directly across the one he was in. It took me 20 minutes to get him to follow me downstairs and it wasn't until we got close to the front door that he allowed me to grab him. The host came down the stairs and kept telling me to hurry up and grab him as she stared at him with pure hate. As soon as I got him home, he finished 2 bowls of water and ate 3 bowls of food and used the restroom 3 times within an hour. To know that she treated him so bad that he got to the point he did is appalling. It honestly broke my heart, he hasn't wanted to leave my side since picking him up, and if he hears a loud noise he gets scared so I have to calm him down because he starts to breathe rapidly. This sitter claims she will always be there for your pet and treat them with love, and that she has no pets or children in the home. But every part of what she claims is a lie, she has a cat, a dog, small children and locks your pet away by itself without proper air flow, food, water, or a place to use restroom. I hope no pet parent ever has to go through what we did.
