Pet care experience
A dog’s life is all about joy. A happy dog’s exuberance is contagious. Their love of play, their love and their loyalty bring so much joy. Being around dogs makes me, happy, too. I’ve had dogs in the past, and will have one again, but right now, I have the flexibility to look after other people’s pets. I’ve had a Dalmatian, and a Jack Russell Terrier, and I learned a lot from them. Getting to know a dog is all about paying attention to body language. And bringing a trusted four-legged buddy along for outings brings us both a lot of enjoyment. For example, I’m an avid cyclist, and I have brought smaller dogs along in a basket on my bike for short rides. Also, dogs love the beach, and I am a frequent visitor at the Long Beach dog beach. It’s even better than the dog parks all over my neighborhood. Pup time doesn’t have to be all about adventure. I like to get down on the ground so a dog can get to know me at a comfortable pace. Once we’re getting along, I’m generous with cuddles and belly rubs. I’ve found that the dogs I look after love being talked to. I will chatter for as long as they’re listening, even if it’s just nonsense.

Francois sat for entire month for us this past summer while we were in Europe, 2 dogs Theodore and Daisy and 2 cats, Gabriel and ZayZay and our home, which was kept immaculate. We have a difficult, very fearful ChiChi, Theodore, who is a challenge but Francois worked hard and took extra time with Theodore. The little guy can be difficult. We felt our home and critters were in safe hands for what was an extended period of time. He provided videos and we kept in touch via Whatsapp. Thanks Francois!
Francois has sat for my pooches Buddy and Madison a number of times. I am so lucky and grateful I have suck a dedicate animal lover live in my house while I'm away. I can tell that Buddy and Madison have their long walks and meals. I much prefer this set up to the over night pet hotels.
Xavier did a wonderful job for us! He stayed with our two older dogs while we were away, and made sure one of them received her medications on schedule. Xavier was attentive to the special needs of our little dog who had a recent surgery, and followed our (very specific) directions to a T. We were never worried about our babies with Xavier at the helm—and that's really saying something! Extra bonus: Xavier left our house perfectly tidy.

I’ll get back to you right away if you message me. Communication is important! As for getting to know your dog, initially I want to hear anything you want to tell me. But the most important information will come at the meet-and-greet. I’ll watch your dog for comfortable body language, and I’ll get down on the ground with your dog and allow a nice, slow, sniffing and investigating session. Let me put the leash on the dog -- then we will be able to tell very quickly if our personalities will mesh. Let me know how your dog is, socially. How does your pup react around other dogs, other animals, or strangers out walking in the neighborhood? Dogs like routines, so I will ask about mealtimes and bedtimes, and the best times for walks. If your dog has a favorite walking route or park, tell me all about that, too. I want your dog to be happy, healthy and comfortable.
A typical day
We’ll definitely get plenty of exercise. Your dog will get plenty of walks. There will also be lots of unstructured fun time. Dogs like to play, cuddle and hang around. Maybe we’ll watch TV or read a book on the porch when we aren’t playing at the dog beach or running at the dog park. I’ll send along plenty of messages, and you’ll get tons of photos of your dog having fun. I’ll make sure your dog is happy, healthy, well-exercised and engaged for the whole visit.
