Compassionate&Patient animal lover!

Pet care experience

I have been the sole caretaker of many animals of all shapes and sizes for half of my life. I grew up around large (over 100 pound) dogs, and continue to house/pet sit for neighbors who have 6+ massive dogs. I spend my spare time volunteering at shelters and farms, making me very attuned to the needs of many animals all at once. I have raised and sat several puppies (and am currently raising a puppy), and feel quite confident in ability to leash train and train basic commands/manners. I have adopted and cared for several “special needs” cats who required intensive veterinary care and medication. While some have passed away as a result of terminal illness, I loved them until the very end and became quite an expert in animal hospice care. I work well with senior animals who need a patient and quiet individual! I also have experience with aquatic, tortoise, and small exotic pet husbandry. I attend graduate school from home part time! Because of this, I am free all day, every day to cater to the needs and wants of my pets (and yours too!). My fiancé is a travel nurse, leaving me at home to care for the animals alone while he is gone. I administer all meals, medications, and take them to all vet appointments. There is truly not more than an hour or two of my day that does not involve my animals or other animals I watch (neighbors dogs). I have a fully fenced in half acre with full view of the entire yard. There are no holes in the fence or ground! The privacy fencing is 8 feet and the other portions are 5 feet; I haven’t had a dog jump over them. We get our lawn sprayed with animal friendly mosquito and tick repellant. I have raised several puppies so my house is safe from small objects, inappropriate/toxic food, and chemicals. We use pet-friendly floor cleaner as well. I fully believe in a fear free environment filled with positive reinforcement, no yelling, and attempting to understand where behaviors are coming from before labeling them as inappropriate or bad. Please note: for dogs that will be staying at our home, we do ask that you provide proof of current vaccinations - including Bordetella! My fiancé and I live in a small town; the only way to get to us is via small state highways. We understand this may be out of the way for most of our repeat/potential clients. As such, I am more than happy to drive to either Concord, NH or Keene, NH for both pick-up and drop-off of your pets. Please note a small fee is added on due to inclusion of this service. I do offer later PM pickups after boarding, but please note that additional fees apply. A pickup past 3pm constitutes an additional daycare fee; a pickup past 6pm constitutes another night of boarding. Thank you for understanding!

Wynter was wonderful with my dog, Stella. I was worried about leaving Stella somewhere as she is a scared dog - scared of people, scared of other dogs. Wynter worked to make sure Stella was comfortable and got to know her before we left on our 5-day trip. Wynter gave Stella plenty of attention and Stella warmed up to her quickly! We received daily pictures and updates. I will definitely be using Wynter's services again for future trips!

Wynter was great with our pup. She was able to accommodate short notice as well. I will certainly use her again in the future.

A typical day

I absolutely adore the routine I have with my dogs! They get breakfast in the morning after they play outside with one another (and myself) for 15-30 minutes. Playing outside can involve anything from playing with sticks, outdoor toys, to simply running around! Meal time is quiet since I am also feeding my cats (and myself lol!). In the afternoon in the summertime, I turn on the backyard sprinklers and run around with the dogs since this tends to be the hottest portion of the day. I have “lick mats” which I spread with peanut butter and put them in the freezer so they are cold when we come back in! It’s a nice frozen treat for the dogs which also stimulates the mind. Around dusk, I take my dogs for a walk, sometimes around downtown, sometimes up a few trails by my house. We pass by a quarry, pond, and walk along a decommissioned railway!! My dogs love to watch people kayaking. The end of the day is for dinner and resting in the living room. I like to brush out my dogs around this time. Before bed we go back outside for potty and one last bout of playtime to get any leftover energy out.
