Hello I'm Salix! I've just moved to the Gold Bar area and I'm excited to be here and hopefully get to know some of your wonderful pets! I grew up on a small farm in the foothills outside of Duvall helping care for my family's cats, dogs, chickens, turkeys, bunnies, guinea pigs, and the occasional fish. I started pet sitting for neighbors at a young age and have continued to enjoy being able to spend time with animals giving them care and attention. I've had my own dog, Scrappy, for about 6 years now and I also foster on occasion. Over the years I've also lived on multiple larger farms and learned to take care of goats, horses, geese, ducks, guineafowl, and more large scale growing operations for vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I truly love this type of work and being able to build connections with animals and the humans who care for them is one of my deepest joys.

Salix and I used to live on a small farm together where we cared for a small herd of goats, 30-40 chickens, three dogs and a kitty. They have a genuine knack for understanding and responding to animals' needs with love and compassion and are excellent at sticking to schedules and routines. They're incredible with their own sweet dog Scrappy as well! I would trust Salix with my animal friends any day and highly recommend them as a pet caregiver!

I have a small fenced yard and a very friendly boy dog that is happy to have company if I'm hosting your pet at my home. I also have lots of space on the property outside of the fenced area that the dogs can play in and explore if your dog is good off leash. In clients homes I love to know exactly how you like your pet taken care of so I can make sure to make them, and you, as comfortable as possible while you're away. I understand that it can be a stressful experience for some pets to be without their owner so I work hard to build trust and move at your pets pace while they're getting used to me. I like to use play and enrichment to build confidence and a sense of safety for your pet while you're away.

A typical day
I love to go swimming at the river and go on long hikes on the forest service roads in the area with my dog and am always happy to include guest dogs in those adventures. I use silicone lick mats with plain yogurt and pumpkin puree frozen on them as an enriching and soothing treat.

I currently spend most days home with my dog so I have lots of availablity to come by and give your animals some attention and a potty break while you're at work, on vacation, or just have an extra long day every now and then where you don't want them cooped up.
