I do not have any pets of my own, but have loved animals from a very young age. I am known among friends and family as an animal lover, and known to be good with them— I am well liked by all of my friends/ family members/ neighbors’ pets. I know many of the dogs in my neighborhood by name and often say hi to them. I am patient, gentle, calm, and responsive, and enjoy learning and following dogs’ body language and boundaries. I am also consistent and firm, and a good fit for dogs who are being socialized or trained. I enjoy meeting and getting to know dogs who might be more shy, skittish, or reactive, and don’t mind if they take a little time to warm up to me (they usually do fairly quickly!). People often tell me they are surprised by how quickly their pets warmed up to me, and that their pets are more comfortable with me than most people. I am a lover of long walks and taking in nature, and am a good match for dogs that take a slower pace and like to amble and sniff, as well as dogs that benefit from longer walks.
