Dog sitting in RG27 with lovely lurcher
Pet care experience
In the past year, my partner Chloe and I have had the incredible privilege of being a dog sitter, and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride filled with wagging tails, playful barks, and endless cuddles! One of the most rewarding aspects has been raising a precious puppy from the tender age of two months, watching them grow, learn, and blossom into a well-trained companion. From mastering basic commands to navigating social interactions with other pups, every milestone has been a cause for celebration. The bond we've formed is nothing short of magical, and being able to share that love and knowledge with other furry friends under my care has been an absolute joy. Can't wait for more adventures with my canine crew!
Reviews
William has an affinity for animals and treats all creatures with responsibility and care. As a loving dog owner, he understands what it means to care and nurture for his pet, and cares for her very much.
I’m not surprised that Will has signed up to help other people with their pets as he’s such a caring and fun animal lover. I’ve always been delighted (and grateful) to have Will look after my dogs, who come back super content and clearly having had a wonderful day of play. I’m never anything but confident that as a sensible dog owner, he will extend the same care and attention to anyone else’s pets.

Safety, trust & environment
I have cared for my own lurcher since she was 2 months old. She is crated overnight still - but we're working on moving her out. My dog usually just sleeps by my feet a lot during the day (I work from our dining table) and we have a large, secure garden (back and front) for a bit of playing and bathroom breaks. The house is very dog friendly. Dogs are not permitted upstairs.

Information William L. would like to know about your pet
I'm open to all breeds and temperaments but would like to be made aware of any particular needs your dog has or behaviours that they express. The other key thing for me is understanding any training you are undertaking and key words you use with your dog. Lastly, diet is a key factor - what they eat, what can be used as treat etc.
A typical day
We have a large garden for playing a bit of fetch and generally having a good old sniff around. Opposite our house we have fields and woods for walking during the day and I usually put my dog on a long lead so she can have a good roam around. I don't let her off lead because we have a thousand deer, pheasant, rabbits and hares she'd love to chase! I also run with my dog quite regularly (mixed distances, often only for 15-20 minutes) so I'm also really happy to do that. I have space in the car to take the dogs a little further afield. One important skill with dogs is the 'just do nothing' skill so we might do a bit of that too - going and sitting in a public place for a little while and just finding the space for them to settle.

Availability
I work from home usually every Monday to Friday and have time in the day to dog walk on a fairly flexible schedule. At weekends, my partner Chloe and I are both around. Depending on the daylight - an average day might be a run with our dog in the morning and a walk around the fields in the middle of the afternoon. We attend weekly training courses with Wolf, our lurcher, and so I do some training during the day as well.
