WOULD WOOF TO WATCH YOUR PET!!

Pet care experience

My senior dog, Zeppelin, is a service dog registered with the state of Michigan who I adopted in 2015 from Genesee County Animal Control. I am an approved Foster from Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter along with Capitol Area Humane Society. I adopted “Zeppy” when he was about 2.5 and helped him become socialized. His best friend was his brother, Silas the cat. Currently, he is pals with the neighbor girls Dali (a two year old Jack Russel/Mini Pinscher) and Lynda (a four year old Mini Pinscher/Chihuahua). I used to pet sit for my neighbors as a child. This included their dogs and yes, their fish! All three coy fishes!

Whitney was great at accommodating our last minute booking and our dog’s needs. She was good at communicating to me and accommodating anxiety about slippery floors. I would be comfortable talking Lewis back again during our next trip out of town.

Amazing! My dog loves Whitney and enjoyed meeting her dog, Zeppy ? She gives detailed updates throughout the stay which has given me peace of mind. She is very attentive to my dogs needs and ensuring the safety of my dog. I am very happy I found Whitney! Thanks so much, Whitney, you are a gem ?

Whitney was wonderful with my two cats… they came home well cared for, brushed and fed.. I delivered a lot of their items and Whitney very very astute with their needs ( including a sore spot on one kitties head … she was a pleasure to deal with ( on short notice & made every effort to make herself available .. Whitney is a true asset to your “rover”!

Responsible? Check! She’s a teacher. Animal lover? Check! She donates to help Animal Shelters. Whitney goes nowhere without her dog. Her world revolves around her pets. She is the kindest person I have ever met towards animals and has such a big heart. I would recommend her 1200% as an animal caretaker. I’m pretty sure she enjoys spending time with animals over her human comrades sometimes. Book Whitney; you will NOT regret it! Nor will your pets!

Zeppelin and I love to take short walks around the “block.” We really enjoy the park and nature. In his earlier years he would even go kayaking with me and was a great little swimmer! As he is older now however he prefers to paddle through a kiddy pool!!

A typical day

I wake up when my dog licks my face and says, “wmumma, pet me & potty.” He goes for a little #2 walk and we eat breakfast. A typical day is leisurely but revolves around “Zeppers” and my boyfriend, Rob, who lives across the street (and his two dogs Dali & Lynda). With the snow, I generally don’t keep “Zep” out for too long for his poor little paws and he typically wears a sweater and a coat while outside in the winter. In the Fall, we are constantly visiting parks. Now that he is a distinguished senior dog, sometimes we walk, but sometimes we just pack a lunch and throw down a blanket! Maybe you’ve seen us in Holt or Lansing at Poxson or Crego Park; those are his favorite! During the summer he stays cool with puppy popsicles. (It’s really just basically frozen pup friendly apple juice, but don’t tell him!). Or we walk up to Dairy Dan and he enjoys a doggie sundae while I get a twist cone! When it’s rainy we camp out inside with the three boxes of toys he has. Many of them are old with holes and chewed up but I recycle them by hiding small treats inside of them for him to find. As my days are centered around my dog, evenings are sometimes “adult time” where I focus a bit more of my time and attention to the humans in my world. Zeppelin doesn’t seem to mind as he usually is worn out by sundown and can always be found by my side on the couch watching tv or his blankie and orthopedic dog bed in the center of the living room. Sometimes I find myself just sitting there on the couch looking at him sleep rather than watching the tv next to him. When I say, “nite nite,” Zeppelin knows it’s time for a final run around the house and last potty before sleep, then runs inside. He might grab a midnight snack or drink of water and then he is off running with the last little bit of energy he can possibly muster to jump onto the ottoman at the foot of my bed. He then climbs up onto my bed and makes himself comfortable on my pillows, which we call Zeppy Mountain! Finally, I try to find a spot a lay my head next to the worlds biggest pillow hog I have ever met!
