Spoiling Specialist. *Horse Xp.*

Pet care experience

35 years of total experience. I have grown up in a family with 5-6 dogs at any given time and 3 horses. I also grew up taking care of other dogs, horses, birds, lizards and more and have house sat for pretty much every animal possible. Including a rattlesnake one time. Yikes! Haha. It supplemented my income while in high school and college. I recently started back up this endeavor to help get myself out of CC debt, but it has turned into so much more. I achieved my goal but find myself loving this part time gig. The pets and pet parents I have met have won my heart, so I choose to continue on. 😊 I currently have about 8 families that I regularly sit for now that all started through Rover and after my initial stay most now choose to book with me outside of the app. My rate is $45/day with a minimal $5 per additional pet(s). Please note: Rover charges pet parents a 7% fee at booking and it is paid at time of booking. Pet sitters are paid after the job is completed and are charged 20% of their rate. We do not have human children but do have three fur babies that I consider my "kids". They travel with us when they can but there are times they cannot, and I know all too well the struggle with trusting others when it comes to my three. Being a "worry wort" Mama myself and quite particular about their care and comfort, I stress quite a bit on the occasions we do have to leave them behind. Our mission is to help others with the same struggle. I say "our" because I am incredibly fortunate and blessed to have a supportive spouse that affords me the opportunity to help others. If he wasn't home holding down the fort with our three, I wouldn't be able to do this. So even though I will be the one watching your pets, I like to consider us a team. :) I am a non-smoker, non-drinker, and extremely clean person. If you request overnight stays, it is important to me to make your return after a long trip as stress and labor free as possible. I will do my best to make sure you come home to a house just like you left it, hopefully even a little better and your four-legged family members as happy and relaxed as possible. They no doubt are always excited for their parents return. No matter how much fun and love they get from me there is absolutely NO replacement, ever, for the comfort of Mom and/or Dad. :) I also am more than happy to take care of plants and tend to anything as requested. I hope to build some lasting relationships with the families I sit for that can make it a little easier for them to make plans and travel knowing they have someone they can call that is trustworthy and reliable.

Whitney is a wonderful pet and house sitter. She was very good with our dog Ember. She gave her lots of attention. We really liked it that very evening we were away Whitney sent us a message along with pictures of Ember. Whitney did everything we asked her to do and more. When we came home our house was exactly as we left it. We highly recommend Whitney and plan to use her again.

I wish I could give more stars for Whitney! Our dogs behaved very badly. She rose to the situation and handled everything...and did anything required to calm the situation and let us continue to enjoy our trip. Wonderful communication and ability to understand the needs of the pets... and pet owners!! Everything was perfect on our arrival home. Thank you again Whitney!!!

Exercise/walks: I prefer not to walk dogs. I have an ankle injury that makes it difficult to walk long distances as well as some fear due to a traumatic experience with aggressive loose dogs in our neighborhood while walking my three. I will certainly play with them as much as they want for exercise, but walking is not part of my core services. Spoiling, playing, chillin' and relaxin' with them is my specialty. :) Photos/Daily Check-In: Communication is paramount for me. I expect frequent communication (without being prompted) when I leave my three with someone as it helps put my mind at ease, so I make sure to do the same for the parents of the pets I stay with. I LOVE photography. My three pups are my "muses" but have gotten annoyed with my antics and the camera in their face, so I enjoy finding new muses in the pets I watch. :) You will get a "I'm in" text letting you know I got into the home ok and everyone is good on the first day. After that you can expect a text with at least one photo, typically in the mornings as we are getting our day started for in home/overnight stays and after the visit is completed for drop-ins. Any other communications of course as needed as well. :) For new requests, prior to booking, I like to do an initial meet and greet at the pet owner's home to make sure it's a good fit and everyone is comfortable. If booked far in advance I like to come by again a day or two before your scheduled trip to provide an updated "sniff" of myself for the pet(s) so they remember and aren't too surprised or stressed when I walk through the door for the first time without you being present. It's important to me to set the pet(s), the owner(s) and myself up for a successful and stress-free stay. Thank you for taking the time to check into my profile and I hope to meet you and your four-legged family member(s) soon!

Information Whitney M. would like to know about your pet

Due to childhood trauma and being bit by a dog I knew for years and trusted well I have a healthy respect and fear of dogs. Especially large breeds. If your pets have any aggressive tendencies, even sometimes, towards humans and/or dogs, it will not be a good fit.

Exercise/Play: Due to an ankle injury making it difficult to walk long distances and a traumatic experience with loose aggressive dogs in our neighborhood while walking my three, I prefer not to walk dogs. I will certainly play with them as much as they want for exercise, but walking is not part of my core services. Spoiling, playing, chilling and relaxing with them is my specialty. :) Photos/Daily Check-Ins: Communication is paramount for me. The day you leave for your trip you willl receive an "i'm in" text to let you know I got into your home ok and everybody is good. After that you can expect a daily check-in report (text) with at least one photo, typically in the morning as we are starting our day, for in-home/overnight stays or after the visit is completed for drop-ins. I am hobby photographer and my three are my "muses" but have gotten annoyed with my antics and the cameras in their face, so I enjoy finding new muses in the pets I watch. :) I do my best to get "studio quality" photos but it's really dependent on the pet and their tolerance of the camera. The joy I have when walking into one of my regular family's homes and seeing a picture I took of their pups in a frame and/or hanging on their wall brings me such joy. :) Though, I can't promise perfect photos every time, I can guarantee at least a photo a day. Other communications of course as needed as well. :) Schedule: I am a Marketing Analyst and work from home most of the time so I am able to be with your pet for majority of the day for in home/overnight stays. However, I have some daily personal and family commitments and need the freedom to come and go throughout the day as need. Sometimes for few hours each time. Rest assured however, I will be with them more than I am not and if your pet is on a specific feeding or medication schedule, I make sure to plan accordingly and ensure they are fed at their scheduled time(s). I do not like mine or any pet should be left alone for too long. If you require someone to be in your home at all times unable come and go as needed it will not be a good fit.

Items of note: I am a Marketing Analyst and work from home majority of the time (sometimes I do have to go into office) so I am able to be present majority of the day with your pet as long as you have a WIFI connection for me. However, I do have some daily family and personal commitments and need the ability to come and go throughout the day. Sometimes for a few hours at a time. I try to be away no more than 4 -5 hours at any given time, however, sometimes it may be a little longer dependent on scheduled commitments and factoring in travel time. Rest assured however, I will be with your pets more than I am away, and if your pet is on a specific feeding or medication schedule, I make sure to plan accordingly and ensure they are fed at their normal scheduled time(s). I don't like my or anyone's pets to be alone for too long. If you are needing someone to remain at your home at all times, unable to come and go as needed, it will not be a good fit.
