Pet care experience
My family has owned dogs since I was young. I've cared for an trained a Schipperke, Alaskan Malamute, two Cairn Terriers, and two Rottweilers. I helped raise and train two German Shepherds from puppies to adulthood with a third grown GSD in the herd. I currently have an Australian Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. I have cared for elderly dogs and puppies. My Aussie has seizures, so I'm used to medically complex dogs and providing oral medication.

We are so grateful to have Whitney as our dog sitter for our dog Isla. On the days where both my husband and I are gone in the evenings, we have such peace of mind knowing Whitney is able to drop in and give our high energy dog a play session and time to go out to relieve herself. Whitney responds promptly with her an availability and leaves detailed notes of her visit each time. We can’t thank her enough!
My older dog and my puppy felt very at ease with Whitney. She is very thorough in asking all important questions before taking care of the dogs and I felt my dogs were in good hands.

I will follow all requirements of the pet parents while in their homes. I can safely crate your dogs if that's where you would prefer to keep them, or I can leave them to free roam, or outside. I will make sure the dogs have plenty of water prior to leaving. When I am at your house, your dog(s) is my main priority. I will play with them outside and make sure they get the freedom to run around, play catch, play tug o war, or just rub their bellies.

I like to know if the dog has any triggers while out on walks (chasing after cars, small animals, etc.) so I know what to watch out for on our walks. I also want to know if they tend to pull so I can prepare for any tugging. Please let me know if there are any training techniques you want me to perform (having them sit before a meal or a quick correction on a walk).
A typical day
I like taking dogs to the park if there's one nearby. I think there are some great smells! I will keep them on leash in accordance with local ordinances. If there aren't any parks, I will take them exploring around the neighborhood. I like to give them the opportunity to be curious, but keep them on a decent walk to get their energy out! I like to find the toys they enjoy playing with either inside or outside the residence (depending on space) and engage with them. Once they're done, I like to shower them with pets and belly rubs!

Availability
I work from home and have flexibility. I can do drop ins and walks pretty easily. House sitting would require the flexibility to work and drop in to play with the dogs. I would not leave the dogs alone for more than 2-4 hours at a time.
