I'll love your pets as much as you.
Pet care experience
I have taken care of dogs of all shapes and sizes since I was 18 years old. I had the opportunity to house-sit on a semi consistent basis for a house that had multiple pets, but specifically a diabetic cat that I was responsible for providing insulin to, twice daily. I now have my own blind and diabetic dog that I provide insulin to, twice daily. If your dog is familiar with walks on a leash, I have the ability and know-how to walk dogs of all shapes and sizes. I will follow any instructions that you give to me and will care for your pet as though they were my own. My number one goal is to keep their schedule and experience consistent so they barely miss you at all! I am also familiar with dog behavior after volunteering and training at my local shelter. I also love giving updates about how your pet is doing while I'm with them. It's fun to learn about new pets and also gives me an opportunity to bond with them.
Reviews
Whitley took wonderful care of TT, our cat, and Terk, our turtle. Whitley not only checked in on TT and Terk as needed, she provided delightful updates and photos that made us laugh and know that they were in great hands. TT is an older cat that takes medication with her food. Whitley effortlessly learned the routine and was extra attentive in her updates with us which is so appreciated. We can’t recommend Whitley enough!!
Fantastic experience with Whitley for an overnight stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for a drop-in visit and overnight care for their pups. Great communication and thoughtful care of our pups. She was willing to go above and beyond to keep our home nice and tidy and our pups safe.

If I am to come over to your house, I like to act as though I am you even though your pet can clearly tell the difference. If you can help by providing a little bit about your day to day that assists me in making sure your pet will be well cared for. I also have the ability to care for house plants as I have 50 of my own. If your pet has a favorite toy, we can play. If your pet requires 2 walks a day, I can do that. If your pet doesn't like to eat dinner, unless someone is standing near them, I'm willing to do that too. Basically, I will do whatever I can to make sure your pet is well taken care of (and if I can't, I'll make sure I tell you!)
Information Whitley O. would like to know about your pet
I love being educated on specific things to look out for with your dog (do they drink too much water? get grumpy at night because they want to go to bed? sleep in a specific place? etc.) I also appreciate if you can make me aware of specific words used with your dog ex: crate, sit, go potty. This helps me to be self-sufficient when caring for your pet. If caring for a cat, I'd also like to know if/where they hide so I can ensure they are always inside when I leave.
A typical day
I know about enrichment activities from my work in the shelter. These include training, walking, and tasty treats like kongs filled with peanut butter. I love to play a good game of fetch or tug of war. I love long walks through neighborhoods with leashed dogs but can also enjoy a bit of backyard time with your dog (or cat). I am always up for a cuddle from a dog or cat and don't mind if they want to pile in the bed with me (I actually prefer it).

Availability
I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work from home so that I am able to care for your pet as needed. I do have to go to the office 1-2 days a week from 8a-5p. On the days when I am not at the office, I am willing to wake up at whatever time your pet is used to getting up. When I house sit with your pet, I do my best to make little to no plans and will try to stick around the house to keep them company. If I do have plans, I will make sure that you are aware and that the pets are not on their own for more than a few hours at time. I am a very active person averaging about 4.0 miles a day. I will also let your dog lead the walk as I know how important these times are for them. If you've got a pet that wants to chill on the couch, I am OK with that as well!
