Pet care experience
Hi! We're Wesley & Torey, a responsible, fun, dog-loving married couple. We moved to Felton from LA this past year and are loving the nature and the culture here. We've both had dogs since we were children, and for over two decades of our adult lives, and we love caring for them. Torey was a professional dog walker for years in the Bay Area and has excellent dog-whispering / pack leader skills. Wesley fostered many dogs for a shelter in rural North Carolina and loves caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. We specialize in hikes and many cuddles! We had three dogs between us when we started dating in 2016, all seniors, and after several years of devoted elder care, we lost the last of our pups this June. So we're missing the dog energy in our lives right now, and we're excited to lavish your pup with extra love! We both work full time, but Wesley works from home, and on the weekends we are both very much around! We love giving walks and treats -- and did we mention the cuddles? :) Only if your pup likes that sort of thing, of course! We live in a sweet one-story house with a fenced back yard under the trees on a quiet wooded road, a very short drive to Quail Hollow Ranch, the Sandhills Preserve, and other great dog-friendly walking/hiking spots. If your pup is more of the stay-at-home-on-the-couch type, we're good with that too. :)

Wesley was a warm, insightful very caring caretaker for my frenchie Betty White. She proved to be capable and concerned about following through with all my instructions re my dogs care and safety. This was the first time for Betty to be cared for by someone I didn’t know and she was so reassuring and comforting to me! Great energy! House and yard set up perfect! I will be calling Wesley again and again to care for Betty!
Wesley is just WONDERFUL!! My doggo is always beaming with fur joy when he comes home from handing with Wesley's. So accommodating and always sends great pet updates!
My dog is highly sensitive and easily afraid, and it’s hard for me to find someone I feel totally comfortable leaving her with. But I know she’s in good hands with Wesley and Torey. They are clearly genuine dog lovers, and highly attentive dog sitters who are both sensitive to a dog’s individual needs. I feel they genuinely enjoyed bonding with my dog. Wesley and Torey gave my dog a lot of love and attention, made her feel comfortable in a new environment, and were highly communicative with me. I’m grateful I found them so that I can travel with the peace of mind knowing my pup is happy.

We're attentive and communicative and do everything we can to make pets comfortable at our home! Fresh water out at all times of course; feeding at whatever schedule is best for them (we have lots of experience making fresh food for dogs if that's what you need!); a providing a comfy dog bed (they can also of course bring their own); letting them out into the yard to enjoy the sunshine, and spending as much time out there with them as possible; walking them at least twice a day; giving lots of treats (as many as their parents say they can have :)) and lots of love!! And of course we'll communicate with you about any other needs, and if anything seems wrong or just a little off, we'll reach out to you right away.

A typical day
We love taking active dog outings. If your dog loves hiking, we could take them to the Sandhills Preserve, a nice trail near the West Zayante Fire Station. If they're more into a short walks and maybe getting a glimpse of some deer or wild turkeys, we might take them on a stroll around Quail Hollow Ranch, where dogs are allowed on the grounds (but not the trails). Our little road is also calm, quiet, and good for walks, and the humans and dogs here tend to be very friendly!

Availability
Both work full-time Mon-Fri, but Wesley works from home, so she can do dog walks during the day. Both available to be at home Sat-Sun. Torey is a PE teacher in Santa Cruz available to provide companionship and exercise to pets in and around downtown Santa Cruz Mon Friday after 2:30.
