I work well with high anxiety dogs.
Pet care experience
I had my dog for 15 years and he passed 2 years ago and do Rover because I love dogs, not for the money. I cannot commit to my own dog since my work means I travel 2 months out of the year. I bond with all the dogs and work very well with high anxiety dogs. I work remotely from home so I spend a lot of time with the dogs and they are comfortable in my home. It is company for me and a safe and loving place for them to stay. Every dog grows attached to me because I treat them with love, care, and respect. I talk to them. With most dogs, I feel that after a few days, I can understand them and know exactly what they want and need in the moment. They usually do not want to leave when it is time to.
Reviews
Wendy was very easy to communicate and work with! She gave frequent pup-dates of my dog Luna and made Luna feel right at home! I would definitely book with Wendy again.
Wendy took excellent care of my pup. She took her for walks and she got to meet and make lots of new doggie friends. Excellent sitter!
Wendy was amazing! She jumped into help last minute, sent photos throughout the week and was super responsive as I managed drop off and pickup. I would 1000% recommend!
This woman should not be allowed on rover- I don’t know where to even start. I feel like such a bad doggie mama for leaving my baby with her. The first red flag is that she won’t let you see her apartment- you wait outside to drop the dog off and pick her up. I also asked and searched for someone who would watch my dog exclusively and she had at least one other dog she was sitting. My dog is elderly (she’s over 14 and weighs 18 pounds!!) and this woman told me she “punished” my dog then left her in the bathroom for a timeout. She also asked me when I did the drop off or my dog barked and I am pretty sure her apartment does not even allow dogs. My dog has had several dog sitters with no issues, but she told me immediately my dog peed on rug, she’s punishing my dog; and I owe her a new rug. Less than 15 minutes prior my dog had just peed and been dropped off and the urine stain did not even look like hers. She said my dog pooped all over her apartment and in my dogs <14 years she has never done that and never sent photo proof. She is a completely lunatic then asked me to “nicely ask” her to continue watching my dog. I feel terrible for leaving my dog with her. The story gets worse, at the last minute when I found out she was double dipping with another dog I told her verbally and on rover text to make sure my dog is fed separately from the other dog as she will get possessive and upset and also I provided all dog food and treats because my dog only can have wet food and soft treats as all her teeth have been pulled… guess what the lunatic did?? She let my dog eat dry food. My dog has been vomiting, in clear pain (heavy respirations) and lethargic and now needs an emergency vet appointment: my dog whining in pain is making my heart ache. Please do not make the same mistake I did. I never write reviews but I won’t want this horrific experience to happen to anyone else’s baby. She should be banned from Rover. This is just the icing on the cake. It is mind boggling.

Please send me their routine schedule so I am clear on the activities that they accustomed to. I find that dogs function best with change on a clear schedule that makes them feel safe. Please provide all instruction ahead of time, include a t-shirt or blanket with your smell on it.
A typical day
I live 4 blocks away from Dolores Park so I usually spend the first walk on a run with them for 30-45 minutes. All dogs love to run especially high anxiety and I find that the anxiety lowers with a run, they sleep for a few hours after the day. We do afternoon walks for about 20 minutes, then finally an evening walk of 30-45 minutes. The dogs love it and are surrounded by plenty of other dogs that live in the area.
