I have always loved animals, and up to three years ago constantly had pets, mostly dogs and cats. I moved from the UK two years ago where I enjoyed walking neighbors’ and friends’ dogs and loved having them for overnight stays. On a few occasions I privately fostered some dogs that were going to be euthanized, but I found loving homes for all of them, one was a Great Pyrenees mountain dog. Since moving to the US I walk a neighbor’s Shih Tzu whom I love, he gives me such a terrific welcome when I pick him up. When our son has to travel, his French Bulldog comes to stay and we have great fun, she prefers sniffing for fir cones and playing catch to actually walking, but I adore my granddog! I take looking after all these dogs very seriously and make sure they are safe at all times. I get to know their likes and dislikes and keep them happy and comfortable. I find most pets enjoy the company as much as the exercise; it’s a matter of going at their pace.
