Pet care experience
I originally came on Rover to find a dog sitter for myself. After a no show for a meet and greet and someone else not up front about pricing, I thought to myself, "hey, you can do better than that!" I am a massage therapist with my own business, so can offer a fairly flexible availability for drop ins and walks. I have had dogs since I was 20. They are my kiddos and treated as such. Currently my pack includes all seniors (and a pup) that were rescued. I have a deaf border collie whom I've had since he was 3 months old and taught sign language to and can actually take off leash, an older Blue Heeler who we guess to be 12+ from the shelter (that we think was dumped due to cancer and unspayed at her age!) , and a crazy Heeler cross that we brought in last year that is about 1 now. I have worked in human healthcare hospital setting until last year, so have been federally background checked as well as hold two licenses and certifications through DORA (state agency), one which required the same screen as foster parents. Wendy is fantastic! She took time to meet the whole gang (3 dogs and a cat) during our meet and greet and everyone warmed up to her and listened to her well. We hired her to do an overnight stay and she did exactly what she said she would do (show up 4 hours after we left town to let the dogs out and arrive around 10 pm to stay for the night - we were able to verify this with our Ring doorbell). She made sure our oldest dog got his medications and kept us updated because we were most worried about him (he's 15 1/2 years old). I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and punctual pet sitter!
Wendy does a great job all around - taking care of the house and chores, leaving the house as left, doing laundry, etc., and of course taking wonderful care of all critters!!
Wendy is wonderful with my dog Toby. He's older so needs help with the stairs to get in and out of the house for potty breaks and walks. She is so patient with him being older, he can snap at people if handled the wrong way on his hips but has never had problems with him, she is so gently with him. Even though the walks are only down to the end of our block we get pics of an excited old man struttin' his stuff.
Wendy is great! She is punctual, dependable and is great at giving me updates on the fur babies when I’m gone. She has rescue animals so she knows how to deal with pets who need a little extra help.

No breed preferences or restrictions; simply go by dog temperament. Do prefer dogs that have a known history of being able to socialize well at dog park, doggie daycare, etc. Though I have a cat in the house, it can be arranged so that the dog would not have access to the cat.

While my dogs don't sleep in my bed, they all have their own bed in the bedroom to sleep in the same room with us.
