Pet care experience
I grew up working in a veterinary hospital with my parents. I’ve had a long career in public health and recently retired. I’ve been a Trusted Housesitter, taking care of pets in their homes, for several years as well. I think dogs are the best people in the world. I have a very passive and sweet rescue poodle mix, Echo, who gets along well with other dogs. We’d love to take care of yours! I have known Wendy for over 60 years. She was literally raised at a veterinary clinic as it was attached to the house where she lived. The home where she grew up was always shared with a dog or three and a cat or two. Wendy as an independent adult, has always lived with a dog who was never just a pet, but an equal member of the household. Each pup was always included in all family activities. Every time Wendy adopted a new best friend, we all felt tremendous joy. It was as if the new pup had just won the lottery! Wendy has never forced her pup to take the backseat for anyone. Her pets are family and treated accordingly. Front seat passengers know her pup is going to ride on their lap! All dogs should be so lucky!
We love having Wendy care for our dog Shep. She is a conscientious caregiver, following our care instructions carefully while giving him lots of love and attention. She keeps us informed by text, sending photos and funny stories about his behavior. She even gave him a birthday party, complete with a doggie crown. Wendy is the best!

My home is private and secure. I live on a hill with a yard area (unfenced so I always leash pets) and we have a great little community park in town if you are ok with me taking your pet there. I don’t smoke and my kids are grown and on their own so your pet will get lots of attention.

A typical day
I will try to match your pet’s normal daily routine as best I can. Typically the day will include at least two walks and two more quicker potty breaks. Playtime and snuggles all day long

Availability
I’m retired so unless I’m travelling I am usually available. I’m happy to pick up and drop off your pet. Would walk them twice a day for 20-30 mins. Happy to follow feeding instructions. Able to administer medications.
