Experienced, passionate, positive

Pet care experience

I am an experienced and passionate animal care professional, striving to build positive, trusting, and flexible relationships with each unique animal and person I work with. I have over a decade of experience working in animal shelters, in zoos, with wildlife, and with pets! I especially love to work with animals that have more involved behavioral/training/medical needs. Please ask if you would like to check out my professional website for more information!

Space Cat is barely out of kittenhood and she hasn’t spent much time without us, so it took her a day or two to adjust. From the photos Vivian sent, it was clear that she warmed up and relaxed. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Vivian did an awesome job with our 3 fur babies and our home while we were away! We really appreciated her updates and thoughtfulness. We will definitely use her services again :-)

Mocha loved Vivian! We so appreciate Vivian’s care and nurturing of our pup during her first extended time away from us. Vivian is the best! Our two kitties also were so well cared for.

Vivian is highly caring, respectful, and knowledgeable about a variety of pets. Additionally, she has worked as an animal welfare professional and volunteered with animals for most of her life. Out of everyone I know, I would trust her first with my pet - she has dogsat for my family before and provided countless tips on dog training and behavior when I've had questions. As her friend of over 10 years, I can also attest that she is extremely responsible, reliable, and loves animals above and beyond the way that most people do. I couldn't recommend her more!

Safety, trust & environment

I prefer to meet and care for pets in their own homes and neighborhoods, as this ensures they are most comfortable and reduces stress. I employ positive reinforcement strategies with all of the animals I work with, and allow the pet to take the lead in what they are comfortable with and ready for. Occasionally I will watch pets in my own home (especially smaller animals with enclosures) where I have a large fenced backyard and a living space separate from my own pets.

Information Vivian V. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know any specific behavioral needs for your pet, in addition to any allergies, dietary needs, walking equipment, and favortie toys, treats, or ways to be loved! Please don't hesitate to ask for any specific requests.

A typical day

I love to allow pets to explore thier own interests and exercise their minds and bodies when we are together. I try to let your pet initiate and make decisions as much as possible, from play to pets to what direction we want to walk! I am especially passionate about enrichment-based activities.

Availability

I work seasonally, so my schedule is currently very flexible and open. I typically have weekdays fully open for daytime care, including walks, drop-in visits (once or multiple times per day), and grooming/medical/behavioral assistance. I also have sporadic weekends, weekdays, and holidays available for overnight care, though I can only accommodate one furry family at a time for overnights so book early!
