We personally like Vivek, however, we are not happy with this booking. We booked 6-10 hours (day or night) but requested him to monitor the cats since they are old. There was no reason for us to hire if he just wanted to do house-sitting rather than cat-sitting. Upon meet and greet I personally asked him to do a couple of things: 1. Cats have automated feeder, but please give them CAN food when they throw up or they don’t eat well. 2. Cats have water fountain, but please refill the water when it reaches minimum sign. It gets sticky and the adapter stops working. 3. Please clean the litterboxes daily or every other day. 3 of them. Don’t mine if they make a mess especially on the corner one. 4. I’ll leave you a note with these instructions and the digestive medicine on it if they start throwing up. 5. Cats suffer from low immune system, so we don’t walk with shoes and we keep them clean. Please consider that. We came back and 1. Cats were not fed with CAN food when they started throwing up. He did not even check for it. dahlia had thrown up on the couch, and If he had spent time monitoring them, then he would’ve known. 2. Water fountain was at its lowest and barely was working with water that it was not clear anymore. 3. Only 2 litterboxes were cleaned, and there was only one bag full of waste in our trash. Full bag including waste for all days. The other litterbox still contained waste in it and place smelled real bad. 4. The notes/instructions I left on the table with the digestive medicine were untouched. Sitting the same way I left them. Unused medication. 5. Due to long duration of using dirty boxes, the chubbier cat, rose, has developed skin infection on her belly, and we are currently going back and forth for treatment. And dahlia is back to normal and hydrated with digestive medication administered on her CAN food. Vivek definitely pet them and went to see them, but the main task of “caring for daily needs of cats” were missed. I solely relied on the reviews here for this booking, and I hope my review help prevent further stress to other households. Vivek was very responsive throughout the booking, but cameras located at home, “in and out” recordings of door device indicate violation of booking terms. We are super sad, We do not recommend this sitter for housesitting or anything over 30 minutes visitation. During short visitations people usually know they have specific tasks and will attend to them. Longer visitations may provide the misconception of house-sitting rather than cat-sitting and people don’t see the urgency to attend to tasks properly. Best of luck looking for pet-sitter.
