Party Animals - I bring the fun!!!

Pet care experience

I named my service Party Animals because this ISN'T work- I can't wait to meet your pet and show them the world, whether it is out walking and finding what is safe to sniff and what NOT to eat, learning to socialize (without all the drama!), a fun time with toys at your house or a warm cuddly body to keep them company overnight while you are away-- it's not a job, it's a way to pay for life without skimping on what I want to do anyways! I have had dogs for 30 years and a very medically ill cat (but happy!) for the last 15. I don't shy away from medical issues if you will show me the ropes, but mainly I'd like to highlight my skills at being a companion, friend, trainer, adventurer-- and doggie P.E. teacher-- I will continue working on commands of your choice in your absence and stimulate them, reducing bad behavior from boredom and inactivity... but above all: I will bring the pet party to your pet!

I have seen Virginia in action. She really has a heart for her dogs. She spends hours each day tending to her new beagle puppy. She communicates with Ivan beautifully. She has been reaching out to other dog owners by taking Ivan to the dog park. I have a cat, but I certainly would trust her with dogs.

Virginia has a great connection with the dogs. She has that ability to puzzle out what it is they need. It is nice to see a tired happy pup.

Virginia was awesome. I have a high strung 3 year old Golden Retriever. Virginia was kind, understanding and on one visit the day before we left on vacation met and bonded with her immediately. Virginia came to our home 3 to 4 times per day and took great care of our girl. She sent pics and videos daily. Not only fed and walked out dog but stayed with her for extended periods of time to soothe our high strung girl. I would highly recommend Virginia to anyone who cares about their dog physically and emotionally, She did a great job for us.

We have a new puppy that is good with dogs but as of yet he is too young to keep overnight pups-- I am eager and willing to come to your home, however, and can stay overnight or could make multiple visits if you prefer. I will bring my own bedding, food, PC, etc and am very happy to stay on your couch (pets welcome too!) ...Because I know they miss their family and I can bring some comfort ~:oD!

Information Virginia U. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or medical issues-- I am able to give oral medication to cats or dogs by putting it in a special treat (I have no luck with administering pills to cats without food (sorry) but I had a very very picky cat that needed 4 meds and fluids a day and I got it done for 4 years-- shear trickery and possible witchcraft involved;). If treats are not allowed for a dog's medicine I would love to be shown how you do it with your pet during the meet and greet. And I would only take that job if I felt comfortable and confident that I would be able to do it. I do have experience giving ONE PARTICULAR cat subcutaneous fluids and am very willing to offer that service (cats have medical needs most sitters won't be able to provide it (use me! Save your cat and enjoy your vacation ?--it's hard to get away with a pet with special needs. ...I would want to watch the owner do it on their own particular cat first (meet and greet), and perhaps a second visit (very small fee) to do it myself and make sure the cat, owner and myself feel comfortable with the process once the owner is away. I gave my cat injections, never a dog. I am not afraid and would like to learn but would need to be shown what to do.

A typical day

OMG the best moment of the day is when your key is in the door and they are just DYING for you to hurry up because it's so exciting! I will modify this based on the temperament of the dog but generally they have a lot of pent up energy from being understimulated, so this process brings them all the way up then relaxed again to get comfy on the couch when you go: 1.Key in door/door open: lots of EXCITEMENT and laughter and pets so fierce it's (almost) rough housing-- for 1-3 minutes (short just cause excitement gets the bladder going and sometimes there are accidents! 2. Immediate walk or let out to use the bathroom (walks are perhaps better, stuff to smell, things to see-- wipe out the boredom with a lot of overstimulation! (If there is an enclosed area I'll play with them and get them SUPER excited (tire them out!) for 10-20 minutes 3. Bring them in and offer them their food and water because they have worked up an appetite 4. FULL OUT snuggles and/or licks, body checks by the dog, just a big old love-fest so they know they are LOVED and AMAZING and yes, it's sad the family isn't there but-- they get THESE visits and that's great! 5. Slower, comforting pets, hugs, belly rubs, etc... to slooow down and get them relaxed, even a little sleepy. 6. Walk to the door, give a treat as I exit (Note: that's for a 30-45 minute visit, it would be adjusted proportionately for a different amount of time. )
