Honest and Trustworthy Animal Lover

Pet care experience

My name is Virginia and I am a veterinary assistant with 11 years of combined work and volunteer experience working in dog boarding kennels, dog and cat rescues, and veterinary hospitals. I have a German Shepherd, a recently adopted Chihuahua, and indoor-only kitties. My family and I just relocated to Marysville, CA from Southern California. I am a full-time student majoring in Animal Science specializing in Companion and Captive Animals. My ultimate goal is to go to Veterinary Medical School. . I care for both dogs and cats but I only board dogs in my home(one family at a time). Cats don't tend do very well in unfamilar places and they are best cared for in the comfort of their own home. I strongly believe in low-stress handling because one negative experience can determine all future experiences. I care for other people's pets as I would like others to care for my own. I have a high standard of care and I have no problem meeting your personal needs for your pet. My pets are my fur-kids so I understand the desire to seek the best care for them. I realize the importance of finding the right person to come into your home to care for your pet while you are away or if you prefer it, how important it is to find the right home to leave your pet for a weekend. It is vital to find someone that is not only experienced but also someone that you can trust. Integrity is something I strongly value. So, if you are looking for an honest, trustworthy, hard-working, and ethical person, I am your girl! I can help with waste cleanup services for backyards and litterboxes! I can also help with bathing, brushing, toe nail trims, and medication administration! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are a military family and we appreciate all those who serve our community and our country, therefore I offer discounted rates on my services to Active/Retired Military, CHP, Sheriff, Police, and Firefighters/EMT. I look forward to meeting you and your fur-kids!

Virginia is awesome!!! She is knowledgeable, responsible and very loving. She treats each pet as if they were her own. Virginia's experience as a veterinarian technician gives me peace of mind when she is caring for my pets. I have seen her in action. You could not ask for a better pet care giver.

I have known Virginia for years, she is my number one choice for a pet sitter. Very caring, attentive and intelligent. Her knowledge as a vet tech keeps me at ease that my pets are in good hands as she will update me if anything seems different about my pets while I am not around. She has experience with newborns and elderly pets. Consider her as a pet sitter you will not be disappointed!

Information Virginia P. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know vaccine history, spay/neuter status, allergy information, and dietary sensitivities. I also find it helpful to get an idea of pet's routine at home. I like to keep it similar to the normal routine when pet is in my care in order to minimize stress. I want to know what makes your pet happy. I appreciate as much information as possible.

A typical day

If I come over, I generally spend about an hour in your home per visit. Some pets just need to be loved on while you are away and a 30 minute visit just won't do. If you have cats, I will play with them too! I love rubbing bellies, snuggling, and tossing toys! Whatever makes your pet happy while you are away. If your pet stays with me, potty walks are done in my backyard for safety reasons unless you specifically request otherwise. Sometimes I will make adjustments depending on a dog's energy level. I have made visits to the dog park in the past at no additional cost. Every pet is different and I try to make everyone happy and comfortable.
