Home full-time, love dogs & cats!

Pet care experience

My name is Virginia and I am returning to UNCC in the fall to pursue a degree in Education. I have always loved animals and spent a good portion of my childhood studying all things "dog" in hopes of convincing my mother to adopt one. While never successful in convincing her (due to terrible allergies), my passion for animals continued to grow. I volunteered with the Humane Society and was able to put some of that childhood knowledge to work when assisting in walks, socialization, and training. However, my most glowing recommendation would come in the form of my 9 year old Collie Spaniel mix, Merlin, and two 1 year old kittens. Merlin was a shy, timid 3 year old when I adopted him from the Humane Society and has blossomed into a thriving, friendly pup through consistency, exercise, and most importantly love. After all, the best gift humans could have ever received was our steadfast, furry companions and I firmly believe all breeds are deserving of love and attention. Since I will be returning to school in the fall (and currently not taking any summer classes), I have a wide range of availability this summer for walks, drop ins, or overnight visits. Since I have 3 animals of my own now, dog sitting at my own home is on a very strict basis, as I am sure you can understand! My availability, willingness to work with all breeds, and passion for animals is what sets me apart. But enough about me, tell me about you and your furry friend(s)! What kind of service are you looking for?

Virginia was an AWESOME pet sitter! We were nervous about having our pup stay with someone else while we were on vacation but Virginia kept us updated on how she was doing and sent pictures and videos. Would definitely recommend!!

Ginny is great with animals. She is very caring and nurturing towards her dog Merlin. She is a responsible person and I would trust her with my dog any day.

Information Virginia P. would like to know about your pet

I have two cats and one dog of my own so it's important to me that any animals staying with us be up to date on their shots and heart worm/flea medication. The cats have a separate room they can retreat too if either they or the visiting dog feels overwhelmed, but dogs with a history of aggression towards cats may be better kept to a "house visit" at your home to eliminate the risk of accidents. That being said, we have no breed restrictions and all well behaved and friendly pups are welcome in our home.

A typical day

My dog, Merlin, and I go on regular 1 mile or more walks in the mornings and occasionally in the evenings through the residential area of Plaza Midwood. Any furry friends staying with us are welcomed to join us, or if your pet prefers solo adventures, that can be arranged as well. We also have a large, fenced in back yard for both Merlin and your pup to enjoy!
