Pet care experience
I grew up with cats, dogs (both large and small), rats, snakes, and birds as pets. I have been dog and cat sitting for more than 25 years now. I have experience caring for, and staying with dogs & cats in their home, boarding them in my home, dropping in for visits and walking dogs. I also have experience administering medications and working with dogs that have high needs, such as epilepsy, lupus, paralysis, and behavioral issues to name a few. In addition, I work with children, specifically children with special needs, which has taught me patience and the importance of rewarding desired behaviors; two attributes that are also important while working with dogs. I am an engaging and affectionate dog & cat sitter. I want you & your pets to be happy when you are away. I am diligent and communicate regularly with my clients, frequently updating them about their pets. I used to run my own dog/cat-sitting & walking business in San Luis Obispo called SLO Sit Stay, but closed it after moving. I usually pet sit outside of this site, via word of mouth, but would love to meet more pets via this route.

Virginia was so great with my puppy! She took such great care of him and gave him all the attention and time I could’ve hoped for! She sent me pictures during the whole duration of our trip and I never had to worry about my puppy! I will definitely book with Virginia again!!!!!
Virginia cared for our Black lab and Doxie for 5 days while were out of town getting MARRIED! From the get-go I really loved her! She came to our home for a meet & greet and both our pups were immediately begging for her attention. She really put our mind at ease with daily text updates and pictures. This is the longest I’ve ever left our dogs with anyone so it was a great feeling not needing to worry one bit about our fur babies, and just focus on this time we had together! We will definitely ask her to come back!
Virginia took excellent care of both our dogs and our home while we were gone on a 10 day trip out of the country. She was professional, competent and reliable, yet warm and personable. She's a clear animal lover who had our two maltese-mix fluffy girls wrapped around her finger at first meeting. She followed our instructions to a tee and even went the extra mile to give the dogs a wash and leave the house looking neat and tidy. We highly recommend Virginia and intend to ask her to house and dog sit again.

I have a large, fenced yard and two friendly dogs of my own to keep your fur baby company. I can also crate your dog, if need be or preferred. My dogs, and yours, will be walked at least twice a day and are given multiple opportunities throughout the day to play/hang in the backyard. At night, you can rest easy, knowing your fur babies will sleep indoors. While providing drop-in visit and dog-walking services, I will respect your home, maintaining the cleanliness and privacy of the premises.

I don't have any breed preferences; I LOVE THEM ALL! However, knowing a dogs temperament is very important to me. Things such as, do they like cats, do they get along with other dogs, are they okay around children and men, do they have a spot that is sensitive to touch. Are they shy/nervous/easily excited? A yes answer to any of these is fine, and in my experience, normal, but I would just like to know ahead of time so that my time with them is a positive experience.
A typical day
Depending on the day, service chosen, your location and your dogs age/health/temperament, I would either walk or run with your dog on the beach, in the neighborhood, or on a hiking trail. Also, I like to play fetch, blow bubbles, and cuddle, keeping the dog engaged & feeling loved❤️
