Insured, loving, hyper-local

Pet care experience

I got into pet care as a kid for the same reason I still provide it today: Keeping animals safe, comfortable, and entertained just makes me happy! Whether it’s the extroverted cat ready to tell me all about their day or the shy dog who'll eventually become my second shadow, it won't take long for me to fall in love with your pet and their unique personality. I aim for your furry family to enjoy our time together—not just tolerate it! And we'll be sure to keep you updated on our adventures while you're away. You can expect detailed notes, photos, and peace of mind from knowing your pets are in good hands. For testimonials from clients, please feel free to peruse my reviews! For answers to some FAQs, please scroll down (on mobile) or look at the "Availability" section of the box on the left of your window (on desktop). ————————————— 🐾🐾🐾 How to book my services 🐾🐾🐾
0️⃣⚠️ Please note that the services I can offer to Frenchies, English bulldogs, Boston terriers, and pugs are limited, due to allergies. I can provide walks or predominantly outdoor drop-in visits (e.g. backyard playtime). I cannot provide housesitting (with or without overnights) or predominantly indoor drop-in visits. 1️⃣ Please send me a booking request via Rover containing: • Dates • Times and windows of flexibility • A brief overview of the service(s) you're seeking 2️⃣ I will send you my intake form, so I can get a fuller picture of your pets and their care. Please submit this at your earliest convenience. 3️⃣ We will schedule a brief Meet & Greet for us humans to meet face-to-face—and for my future furry friends to make sure I pass muster. We'll finalize the booking from there! —————————————

Vidya was absolutely fantastic! She was so sweet with our older dog (who can be particular sometimes) and made us feel so comfortable while we were away. Not to mention her updates were fun to read! We will absolutely be booking again!

Vidya did an amazing job caring for my 14 yo cat, who warmed to her immediately which is rare. Vidya is thoughtful, professional, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable. She worked with me to ensure we had a communication plan given the 7-hour time difference while I was away and sent photos and videos each day. Wookie thrived under her care, taking her daily medicine easily which is not always the case with sitters. I have already booked Vidya to care for Wookie again and highly recommend her.

Vidya is amazing. She took care of my 19-year-old cat shortly after I had learned his kidney disease had progressed and started him on a renal support diet. Needless to say, my anxiety was running high and I was concerned about whether he would eat the food and worried about potential new symptoms. Vidya was caring, conscientious and thoughtful about my cat's needs (and mine!) and went way above and beyond to make sure he was happy and healthy. He's an anxious guy and wary around new people but her pictures and videos clearly showed how much he liked her and appreciated her company -- which was a huge comfort. Her communication while I was away was thorough and timely and she continued to share incredibly helpful insights from her experience caring for cats with chronic kidney disease after her visits were over. Having her take care of my cat gave me enormous peace of mind and I am so grateful for her.

🤝 FAQ: CAN I TRUST YOU WITH MY FURRY FAMILY? 🤝 My day job entails high attention to detail; there's no room for doors left open or tasks left undone. I bring the same diligence and reliability to your pet care. I believe this is also why many clients entrust me with their pets’ medical needs, including: • Postoperative rehabilitation • Endocrine disorders: feline and canine diabetes, hypo- & hyperthyroidism, etc. • Arthritis and compromised mobility • Respiratory disorders • Allergies • Tripods • Canine estrus (heat) • Breed-specific care & risk factors and more! ————— 🛡 FAQ: WHY ARE YOU INDEPENDENTLY INSURED? DOESN'T ROVER ALREADY PROVIDE INSURANCE? 🛡 I sought to become insured as an extension of my commitment to the safety of pets and homes under my care. When booking a sitter myself, independent insurance coverage is the first thing I look for. Rover's Terms of Service emphasize that Rover does not insure bookings and that the Rover Guarantee is a discretionary reimbursement program. Example Rover Guarantee exclusions: • Chronic, breed-specific, pre-existing, preventable, or orthopedic conditions • Most non-injury illnesses • Veterinary care after 30 days • Burglary, keys, and locks • Sitter property damage • Meet & Greet injuries or damages • Anything involving cars (whether the pet is a passenger or a pedestrian) Regardless of whether clients book me on- vs. off-Rover, the primary form of protection for our booking is my independent pet sitter's insurance.

Information Vidya S. would like to know about your pet

⚽️ You can help me ensure your pet's comfort and fun! ⚽️ 1. On your intake form, please tell me about their routines and behavioral history. A new presence, tread, voice, and smell can understandably induce uncertainty/anxiety for many pets. Let me know if a certain schedule, activity, walking route, or order of care tasks might put them at ease. 2. At our Meet & Greet, I'll ask about toys, enrichment activities, and "eccentricities." If your pet is a sock-hoarder, puzzle-solver, conversationalist, or expert hunter...let me know! I'll be more than happy to incorporate their favorite activities into my visits. Mental stimulation is a great complement to physical exercise, and it can also be crucial for the wellbeing of senior and mobility-limited pets. Plus, it really helps us bond!

🐱 FAQ: WHOM DO YOU SERVE? 🐶 Cats, dogs...and even some livestock and exotics! I have a soft spot for sighthounds, gentle giants, and cats of all sorts. ⚠️ Due to allergies, I can only offer limited services to Frenchies, English bulldogs, Boston terriers, and pugs. I can provide walks or predominantly outdoor drop-in visits (e.g. backyard playtime). I cannot provide housesitting (with or without overnights) or predominantly indoor drop-in visits. ⚠️ Please be advised that additional fees may apply for select circumstances including: • Puppies, adolescents, or seniors • New adoptees • Medication administration posing increased personal injury risk • High companionship or supervision needs (extended drop-in visits, "constant care" housesitting) 📍 My service radius is intentionally small, encompassing Chevy Chase and parts of Bethesda, Kensington, and Silver Spring. Many of my clients value the ability to consistently call on a "hyper-local" sitter who is already familiar with their neighborhood or apartment building. Proximity to pets' homes also helps me add drop-in visits or extend housesitting stays as-needed—and minimizes the impacts of traffic on my services. —————
