Loving & Experienced!

Pet care experience

*PETS MUST BE UP TO DATE WITH SHOTS* 🐶At this time, due to the size of our home and the size/safety of our own pets, we are only accepting dogs who are moderate to low energy. Size does not necessarily matter, as long as they aren’t interested in trying to play rough with the little ones. 🐶Please tell me if your dog is reactive when it comes to barking! If your pup has a boisterous voice and is very reactive to reflecting light (i.e. headlights) or car noises, our home may not be a good fit. 🐶Your dog must be friendly with both dogs and cats. We do not have children in the home. 🐶I currently accept dogs from different families at the same time, if you would like to request to be the only family serviced please ask! 🐶I am a full-time student and my husband works full-time. My classes are in the evenings and his work is 9-5. While it is very unlikely your pup would be left alone at all, I do require that all dogs be able to handle being alone (we are unable to accommodate dogs with destructive behaviors) as there may be times my husband works an hour later and my classes would overlap during that time. To prepare for a stay with us: 🎾Please let us know how often and how much to feed your pup! 🎾In the extremely unlikely event of an emergency, please provide me with the course of action you would like me to take. 🎾First time clients will need to provide proof of vaccination for their pups. This can be emailed/photo messaged to me anytime before their stay! 🎾Feel free to bring all sorts of comfort items for your dog! I want them to feel as at home as possible.

Always superb. Asks my comfort level if and when other dogs coming around, inside/outside, etc. Simple and easy to work with...dogs always come home happy.

I have used Victoria a handful of times. Some on very short notice and she has been very accommodating and helpful with boarding every time. She sits multiple dogs, so it was also a doggy meet and greet. I would recommend her to anyone looking to board their dog overnight.

I have a very large fenced in yard and two dogs myself who are more than available for gentle playtime, though truth be told they love sleeping more. Our neighborhood is also great for taking dogs out for a good walk at the end of the day.

Information Victoria Z. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know how active they are, how nervous/timid they are, any special needs etc. I work better with small/medium breed dogs of any age and any breed of dog of senior age with moderate to low energy. Is he/she trained to use the bathroom outdoors? I'm unable to accommodate dogs using puppy pads or who are not fully potty trained at this time. However, if your dog uses diapers, that is completely fine. Please let me know what your dogs typical day looks like! Routine is important and I would like to be able to mimic that schedule to help alleviate some anxiety your dog may be feeling. Speaking of anxiety, if your dog has separation anxiety, thunder/lightning anxiety, etc, please let me know what behaviors manifest when they're feeling less than their best. Some dogs like to be coddled and calmed while others like to tough it out in a safe place. For example, my dog Mishka, is not a fan of thunderstorms. She's always gotta be right next to mom or dad. At times, she may urinate in an act of submission, but that's pretty rare. I don't require pets to be crated at any time during their stay, but if a crate provides comfort please feel free to bring it!

A typical day

Typically, I like to allow them to check out the house without my dogs present first. Too many stimuli during a first time stay can surely be overwhelming! Once they've checked everything out and seem to become disinterested in sniffing, I'll introduce my dogs one by one. I will usually put up a gate to separate them in the house during this first meeting. this allows them to smell and see each other without getting overwhelmed by touch. My smallest will go first as she's the more timid one and then my guy, Harley, will greet your pup. When they start to lose that first bout of interest, I will remove the gate and allow them to get closer (again, one by one). This method has never, ever failed (I take extreme caution and if things feel off, I will absolutely take a longer amount of time to acclimate them.) and within 2 hours of your pup arriving they are totally integrated in the house. The first day is usually just to get used to the house and yard. During the second day (unless otherwise instructed by you) I will take them out for a walk around the neighborhood. Usually the house is pretty quiet and we spend a lot of time lazing around with the dogs. As far as feeding time goes, I will always feed each dog separately in the house. Please let me know if your dog has allergies or is on a strict diet so that I can take extra precaution when it comes to food. Bedtime can sometimes be a challenge, but my smallest likes to be in bed with us and my boy likes to sleep under the bed. They all have their sleeping habits! Let us know how your dog prefers to sleep! Especially if they're smaller and aren't able to jump up on the bed by themselves. Sometimes they may be too shy to give us signals that they want to be in the bed!

Availability

My husband and I are a dynamic duo when it comes to pet care. While I am the primary caregiver, I do attend classes in the evenings. My husband is home almost always while I am in class, but there may be times he is unavailable to stay home.
