Pet care experience
Since I was a kid I was always looking for ways I could spend more time with animals, especially dogs. I got my first dog walking gig in my neighborhood at the age of 12, and since then I have picked up other dog walking/dog sitting jobs. At the age of 14 my family got its first pet, a miniature poodle named Brodie. Since then I have been her primary caretaker. I have also volunteered at an animal shelter where I worked with dogs of all shapes and sizes, many different breeds, personalities, and requirements for care. All of these experiences have been rewarding and I hope to continue filling my life with more canine friends. I always aim to bring my energy, kindness, and even sense of humor to my interactions with dogs, to make them as fun, safe, and exciting as possible for both species involved!

We live in Manhattan where sometimes it can be hard to find a good dogsitter. I've known Victoria for many many years - she has been a frequent dog walker/sitter for our 11 year-old Milou. Victoria is a wonderful caring person with a huge heart. She's trustworthy and funny and dogs adore her (so do people). She's also very thoughtful. When we're returning from out of town she'll wait to hear from us that we're very close to home before she leaves, and will do a final walk, even if it's not time for one, just so he's comfortable when we arrive. Our dog can be hard to handle sometimes. He can growl and try to engage in mini altercations with other dogs. Victoria knows his potential for bad behavior but under her care we've never had a problem while we're away. Victoria has never been late. I very highly recommend her.
My dog Pekoe adores Victoria and so do I . She is responsible and caring in all aspects of her life and it really shows in her dog sitting/walking. I love how passionate she is about the dogs and so attentive to their needs. I know that when Pekoe goes with Victoria he is safe, getting ample love and having so much fun!

Before walking or sitting a dog I would like a sense of his/her personality, level of stamina, and any other character traits that are important. I have a slight inclination toward smaller dogs--since I am of short stature myself!--but have had consistently good experiences with larger dogs as well.
A typical day
If there is a park nearby that will be the first stop, as I think it's great for city dogs to experience the greener side of life. I will choose busier or quieter areas based on the dog's disposition and the owner's wishes.
