I have had dogs in my life since I was a kid, and currently own 2 dogs of my own- a forever puppy (2 year old) pointer mix and a 5 year old border collie mix. I have experience training my own dogs, as well as house sitting for other families. Some background about my personal dogs and my experience with them: Pepper, my border collie mix, is a very fearful/reactive dog. I have learned a ton about fearful dogs because of her. I only use positive reinforcement training and am very sensitive to dogs that are fearful and/or reactive. Whether your dog is scared/reactive towards people, other dogs, noises, etc., I am more than willing to care for them with all of the instructions that you provide. I am extremely particular about the people I choose to care for my dog, and completely sympathize with the worries others may have with their own pet. Aside from that, I am flexible with times and days for availability, and am very willing to do overnight stays. I only host on a case by case basis and I require that we have an in depth conversation about the personality of your pet(s), as my dog Pepper is dog-selective and I want to make sure I can provide a comfortable vacation for your pet. Something to know about me is my passion for animals, including my own. To me, life is more enjoyable with a canine friend. I am willing to take care of old dogs, sick dogs, fearful dogs, and dogs with special needs. I will not turn down a the opportunity to take care of a pet. I just took a job as an elementary school teacher, so I am away from the house roughly 8am-4pm. I am available any other hours to spend my time loving and caring for your pet! I have a large fenced yard for your dog to run and play in, and 2 dogs who would love to run around with them! If I am caring for your pet in your own home, I am happy to do whatever your dog loves to do to get their exercise. Whether it's tug of war, walking, or going to the dog park, I'm all in!
