Pet care experience
Hi there!! I’m Victoria, an experienced dog trainer who’s been working in the pet industry all across the country for over a decade. My training background is primarily in reactivity and puppy raising/socialization, and it is my preference to work with these subsets of the pet population. Of course dog- and people-friendly pups are always welcome too!! I utilize my reactive dog skill set to help me befriend shy and feral kitties, and I will always jump at the chance to spend time with cats. Adventuring with my own dogs is one of my favorite activities, so if your pup enjoys hiking, taking a dip in a local watering hole, or hanging out at pet-friendly shops in and around asheville, I’m more than happy to bring them along. I also have tons of recs for new residents and visitors to our magical little city in the mountains! Enrichment toys, puzzles, treats, poop bags, extra leashes, and a wealth of knowledge helps me leave your pup tired and better behaved than you dreamed possible. Hire me to care for your pet today!!
Reviews

Victoria is wonderful!! Having to leave our dogs at home is always difficult, but knowing Victoria was taking good care of our pups and giving them lots of snuggles was comforting. She even checked with me about halfway through our trip to see if she needed to pick up more meds for our one dog. She had noticed there were enough meds for while we were gone, but checked to see if we had another bottle or if we needed her to pick one up before we returned. That really impressed me! She also brought various puzzle toys of her own to keep our pups engaged and entertained. We will definitely book Victoria again in the future!

She did a great job! She was very thorough and sent lots of pictures and information. A+

Victoria took amazing care of my two large lab mix dogs (who rarely are cared for by anyone but me,) and she made the whole process so easy it was like an angel popped by and fed them & let them out to play (while I was completely out of pocket at a family wedding & our other sitter had cancelled). I was able to book last minute by meeting Victoria and giving her care instructions by video chat through the app. She put me right at ease-seemless process, very professional.

Walks take place in your neighborhood, and drop ins at your home, unless otherwise arranged. I don’t bring other pets or people to any of my client visits (although if your dog likes other dogs/playdates, my dog Roswell-see profile- is always more than happy to come to work with me!) I have my own arsenal of poop bags, treats, even extra equipment like leashes, puzzles, sniff mats, etc to supplement training while working with every pup. And yes, I have kitty treats on hand too!!

Information Victoria S. would like to know about your pet
As my preference is to work with reactive clients, a brief history of their behavioral issues, triggers, and current and previous management approaches are always helpful. I am open to working with all dog breeds/sizes, but some health issues have limited my ability to walk strong pullers unless they are also training clients. I am, however, happy to walk several dogs at once. I will not meet strangers or strange dogs on walks even if your dog is friendly or enjoys this. I will not bring other people or dogs with me on visits to your home. I will not take your dog to a dog park, or allow it to be off leash, even if these are part of your usual routine.
A typical day
I often utilize my background in childcare in tandem with my years of dog training knowledge to come up with enrichment toys and games for your pet. I’m a firm believer in not only tiring a dog out physically, but also wearing out their brain, be that through a training session, incorporating training and sniffing into our walk, or utilizing my enrichment tools. I will not bring client dogs to dog parks, they are often unsanitary and unsafe.

Availability
Pet care is both my career, and my passion. I do volunteer work on the side so my schedule is not completely free, and I am typically not available after 8p or on Sundays.
