I live in an apt. So I prefer to care for pets in their own space. I prefer a very soft and loving approach to any animal and will gauge their wants and needs based on their actions in that moment. However, in order to avoid “accidents” I like to go through a few routing motions like potty/ outside time before bed / the last visit of the night. I prefer instructions for feeding/ treat / walking / outdoors or anything else your baby might require, to ensure the best possible care in your absence.
